Gzusloves, hope you are on the mend and will be stitching away soon. Today's task is to get all the Christmas stuff into bins and off into the garage. It is now half done and what a mess it is!
|
So very saddened by your loss. God has a special angel now. Praying for you and family.

Take a look at this everyone.
ALL of this is (hopefully) going to be mailed tomorrow, LOL NOOOOOOO do not get your hopes up it is NOT all going to sp's just 2 of the packages are for my sp's. But I am NOT saying which packages are for my sp's. All the rest is going to other friends (not on QB), but I wanted to get it all ready so that I only have to make one trip to the PO this week. HAHAHAHA I see yhou sneaky peaks trying to find the address labels, I didn't fall of the turnip truck today (at least not yet), I did remember to "hide" the labels of even my friends addys. Nice try though, gotta give you an "E" for effort. |
Dear pals, I started putting your packages together yesterday. I am going shopping tomorrow to complete them and hopefully get then mailed by Saturday.
Hint: one of you is getting embroidery thread and one is getting embroidery floss :) |
Ona,
I do LOTS of reading and watching what everyone is saying, so yes I caught on fast to all of the little tricks that get revealed in the course of a swap. Yes I am being a big tease to you all. LOL

Why oh why do I keep getting dropped from reply notifications? I have so much catch-up to do.
Robyn -- I only wish I had the words to tell you how much my heart aches for you and your family. This past month I attended a memorial service for a 95-year-old grandfather who died just before Christmas. He was predeceased by his newborn great-grandson only a week before. His grandson stood up to deliver a eulogy. He stood tall in front of the church in his Marine dress blues. The infant was his nephew. He is scheduled to leave next week for Afghanistan to be part of a convoy security mission, for which he volunteered I've known him since he was in kindergarten. He spoke of death being a part of life and to never be afraid of it. Life, no matter how short or how long, is a gift from God to be cherished and celebrated. Coming from him, knowing he was grieving and knowing he was soon to face the unknown in a very violent environment, this young man's words had a profound effect on me. I pray that time will bring you peace, and that you find comfort with the ones you love and those who love you. ----------------------------------------------- My apologies to my secret pals of Nov and Dec for not posting pictures. I have them, but have not yet had the timeto figure out how to post them (new software on my computer -- struggling with Windows 7, Google Chrome, and new Board format. I hate so much change all at once. As soon as I catch up, I will get to the pictures. |
Good Afternoon Everyone! My goodness, it is so chilly up here! According to the noontime weather it is unseasonably cool where my SP lives as well so I will be certain to add some of her favorite hot beverages in her package to enjoy along with her favorite treats. I would love to see my SP's stash as she and I share very similiar tastes in fabric! I will be sharing some of her favorites from my stash, in addition to making something especially for her. And I can't wait to go shopping this weekend to spend my $10!!! Hopefully my package will be in the mail early next week to a city and state with an O in it.

Way back someone mentioned scraps ... I LOVE scraps. I have a bad case of cutter's remorse whenever I snip into a measured out piece of fabric. I like the challenge of scrap quilts but hate "ruining" a fat quarter for a 5" or less square. Somehow scraps are less painful to use. I made a resolution to work off my stash this year. I save all pieces for string or crumb quilts for charity or "comfort" quilts for those in need. I'm currently working on a "confetti" quilt, which is lots of fun and a great stress reliever. So please, don't throw away your scraps!!! They have so much potential ...

as I had shipped out the Dec sp box. I have two boxes that seem to be filling up and at the rate I am going a larger box may needed. SP #1 They live NORTH from Colorado Their least favorite color is ONE of MY favorites They love surprises SP #2 Lives approximately 1277 miles from me and if I was to drive it would take approximately 21 hours, 42 minutes to get there. They like tea They do not have a least favorite color That is all the clues for now. |

I received my last Christmas gift yesterday. A 1954 221 Singer FW. It is beautiful. Haven't plugged it in yet but will as soon as I clean off my sewing tables. Must get to Wal*Mart and pick up some big plastic containers. Then I can scoop all off the table and have room to set up my 'NEW" machine and see if it runs. Will let you know
Another hint to my SP you like the same candy that is also my SIL's favorite. Gave him some for Christmas. |

Thompson just might be surprised someday! Her and walk-n-roll have been picking on me because I have made so many quilts for family. Their argument is that I see them more often then my family( they all live in different states) so they should get a quilt too! They are both very experienced, talented, creative ladies and I am just a beginner- actually Kris (Thomp116) is the one that got me started quilting, she is my teacher, mentor and friend. My argument is that my quilts are so simple and basic that I don't feel I am on a level to make them one yet. Someday! :)

Lori,
What kind of machine do you have? I have oodles of bobbins and MANY metal bobbins to which I can not use in my machines. So if you or ANYONE can use the metal bobbins let me know. I even have many plastic bobbins that does not seem to "like" my machine. |
I made it to the PO today so my two SP's SHOULD have their
gift (hopefully) by Friday or Saturday at the latest. Ona, Sure you can call me "Sherlock" if you wish, although just take a good look at my picture and know that I do not have red hair. Ok ok ok I know you want to know what having red hair has to do with it. Well you HAVE to be a fan of the author "Catherine Coulter - FBI Thriller" series to understand that reference. The two main characters of the series are Dillon Savich & Lacy Sherlock they are married FBI agents, and she goes by the name "Sherlock" and she has red hair. Awesome author (and series I am working on book #7 right now). I posted something last week (or the week before?) about scraps, I have SIX (6) (probably closer to 7 actually) bins JAMMED full of scraps, soon as I can get my daughter moved out of my fabric room I HOPE to be able to downsize the amount of scraps I have. I already have your address so soon as I can get into the fabric room and gain access to my scrap bins I will send you a box (or two) full. |
Louise -- I love that series! Have read several. Have to get to the library and borrow some more.
Let me know if you "need" to get rid of more scraps! |
If I'm your SP I sure would love some fudge ; P I hope your elbow is on the mend asap !

I haven't been on the board much lately. On Dec 12th I had surgery. They Dec 28th went out of town and came home on the 1st. While I was gone I got a lot of sewing and reading done. I also made 2 batches of fudge. Today I was diagnosed with lateral tendonitis in my left elbow. I got cortisone shots and now have it elevated and wrapped. Ouch. Hopefully, I will be able to sew real soon.
Glad to hear the good news about Marti. So sorry about baby Emma. My prayers are with the family. Looking forward to my swap this month. |
