Only one more day to sign up for the July pincushion/needlecase swap. Everyone is welcome. Come join the fun!!! :)

Elisabrat 06-29-2015 06:50 AM

I think there is little time left so please don't forget to send your mail information to ctyankee today! time is short so get your information in NOW. No late sign ups unless there are two or more of you sending a request to ctyankee and she agrees to it.

Summer time fun... water I think water. My daughter is going camping at this water spot in Oregon this weekend where there is this gorgeous pond and waterfall. How wonderful would that be? we have easy access to a river right here in town but the fishermen get all upset when people swim there. lol. I would swim there. We also have a dam right outside of town that is a great place to go fishing in a boat and lots of camping spots around where I imagine kids can jump right into the ice cold water. and it is ice cold. :) Water.. yup that's what I think. then of course there is always a day at the beach. My other daughter in law (to be lol) told me she was ending her day with a drop off in Santa Cruz. She was going to stop and go straight to the docks and the coast line and put her feet in to cool off a bit before she went home. Don't blame her. its is seriously hot there too. ugh .. would call home and say sorry sitting right here with my legs in the water and not coming home. til it cools down! what says summer to you? besides heat waves. that is not a qualifier for SUMMER TIME FUN lol. no it is not.

KLTQuilts 06-29-2015 11:30 AM

Ohhhh - I saw a real cute mug rug on Pintrest and am going to attempt to make one very similar. Linda, it does include "water" :D that's my one and only hint . . .

Of course, there is also another mug rug I have in mind . . . maybe I need to tell ctyankee to add me as "2" to swap??????

dfelker 06-29-2015 02:10 PM

OKAY I'm in!

cuppy 06-30-2015 02:36 AM

Beach is my theme, will sew next week, all beach fabric is at the beach house.

The beach in summertime...yahoo! The beach anytime...yahoo!

I think I'm going camping...ha ha ha!

Whigrose 06-30-2015 02:03 PM

This is sew much fun that I signed up for two! One is done but for the binding and the other is well on its way.

Anxiously awaiting for the ' Partners' list to come out tomorrow evening.

Heard from Chocolate Lynn saying she has received her mug rug. Yea!

Best,
deb in Maine

dee1245 06-30-2015 04:57 PM

I just checked in with ctyankee for this months swap. I hope I am not too late.

ctyankee 06-30-2015 05:16 PM

No, you're not too late. We have 37 people signed up. That's a wonderful level of participation, isn't it?

jaba 06-30-2015 06:46 PM

That's fantastic! I have mine done except to hand sew the binding. Tonight and tomorrow night and then I have to get on my quilts to enter in to the County Fair. Still have to make a hanging sleeve, binding...sew them on and then hand sew. Think I better get in gear to finish 3 large queen size quilts, I have about 15 days.

ctyankee 07-01-2015 02:28 AM

LOL! Have fun! Sounds like you won't be coming up for air for a while!

dfelker 07-01-2015 07:24 AM

Good Luck Jaba!!!

JuneBillie 07-01-2015 01:06 PM

Jaba you will have fun at the fair with your quilts. You have really been busy too.

ctyankee 07-01-2015 03:05 PM

Drum roll, please!

Sent suern3 a PM for her address, just waiting for a reply.

jaba 07-01-2015 05:20 PM

JuneBillie, I know I will. Have entered before and done well so hope this year isn't any different. I'm just kind of getting in a panic mode here to get everything done

KLTQuilts 07-01-2015 06:55 PM

I have heard from my partner - Cuppy - and just sent her a pm. Looks like we've got a great crew heading into this swap!! It will be interesting to see what all these creative minds produce!!!

JuneBillie 07-01-2015 08:44 PM

I have contacted my special partner (dfelker), but I am up late tonight. :)

TPr9258 07-01-2015 08:48 PM

Have sent notice to my swap partner, hope I picked the right one from the member list, cause I don't see where she left and notes on this page, waiting for a reply and then heading to Lake George for holiday weekend. If I don't talk to anyone before then hope everyone has a joyful fun and safe holiday.

Elisabrat 07-02-2015 04:33 AM

its a great crew for summer! wow! so many old and new players! I cant wait to see what you guys come up with. This month could be just about anything! . I am almost out of batteries for this morning here but wanted to let everyone know I was still alive. Its been a long hot week. thankfully we get a couple cool days coming up and I will take them oh yes I will!

rwquilts 07-02-2015 06:47 AM

I have messaged my partner and it will be fun to get to know another quilter on the board! Hope everyone has fun plans for this weekend. :)

klaws 07-02-2015 07:12 AM

I don't know why there isn't a lot signing up for the mini quilt swap. A mini quilt is just a little bigger than a mug rug. In fact, I've seen some mug rugs that can be considered mini quilts. If anyone is interested, you can still sign up until tomorrow.

Okay, you talked me into it! Just signed up.

I think summer is a hard time to get people to do swaps. I am hosting the I Spy swap and it was hard to get just enough to swap the basic sets, after a long delay. People are just busy and outside more in the summer.

Lizzytish 07-02-2015 11:56 AM

Dee and I have made contact. Ideas ideas mmmmm lets see which one.

sewbizgirl 07-02-2015 02:23 PM

My swap is mailing out tomorrow, 7/3. Since this one was 'maker's choice' I had it done before I even got my partner!

Crqltr 07-02-2015 02:28 PM

I've been in contact with my partner...now to get going on it!

Robinlee 07-02-2015 02:29 PM

The Whobee Whatee?

Happy 4th to you too, Robinlee! Stay safe. D.C. is hot, so stay cool....

ctyankee 07-02-2015 03:26 PM

Robinlee,

Have fun this weekend. Wish I could join you! I've only been to DC once & I was pushing a stroller around -- LOL! Hope you have a chance to see something at the Smithsonian!

dotcomdtcm 07-02-2015 03:41 PM

Took the kids to the big firework shows for many years. Now I can enjoy the celebrations on tv and freedom to sew!
My mug rugs are ready for mailing. Need one address. Celebrate and enjoy!

Robinlee 07-02-2015 03:45 PM

NLC- National Leadership Conference and FCCLA IS Family, Career Community Leaders of America. Which if in my high school years means FHA-Future Homakers of America. There is an expected 8000 student members and about 2000 advisers and volunteers. I am an adviser, but I am not taking students this year, next year they are planning to attend in San Diego. Anyway, I am volunteer to assist the National office with duties and attend Adviser Academy for which I was selected from 50 states and 3 other memberships to attend. Pretty cool coming from a small town school in ND.
So i hope that cleared a few things up.
Robinlee

Yes, staying home and sewing sounds perfect! Hubby just mentioned there is a big parade on the Gulf Coast Saturday that he might like to go to (3 hours away in mobs of holiday traffic). Grrroooooaaaaannn.... NOT what I had in mind. He will hate the crowds, he just forgets.

terriamn 07-02-2015 04:22 PM

We will sit in the pontoon, motor out about 20 feet and drop the anchor. We can watch the huge fireworks put on by 5 families.b usually the mosquitoes are so bad we don't stay out long but have several of those thermal thingies that do a great job keeping those nasty buggers away

klaws 07-02-2015 04:49 PM

I'll be watching on the TV. There is no way I will be sitting out in 100 degree heat index watching fireworks! No Sir, not me! :p

ctyankee 07-02-2015 06:01 PM

My town is having fireworks next Saturday. And, yes, I will be there! I really look forward to it.

JuneBillie 07-02-2015 09:56 PM

I also will be watching from tv while sewing. It's suppose to rain here.

I do have my fabric for my special person for this month to make her mug rug. I hope she likes it. :)

FabQuilter 07-03-2015 02:37 AM
