[QUOTE=Rhonda;7243809]Welcome to our Wall Hanging Swap!

Ready to Mail list

Ready to Mail list will be posted the middle of June.

This is a bit confusing to me.

Rhonda 07-01-2015 05:32 PM

Sorry I can't go back and reword it. I should have said -
you must send me a pm telling me you are ready to mail. Once I have that I can add you to the list of swappers who are ready to mail. Only the swappers who are on that list will get an address to send to.

Is that a bit clearer? i hope so. I will try to remember to word that better next time.

skaduzy 07-01-2015 05:37 PM

Rhonda, that's your mistake! Not so big at all....."....it still says June in Ready to Mail instead of October.

I'm in again. This is my favorite swap since you have so much time. I think I will go Christmas this time.

Do you want our info again if we were in the last swap?

Rhonda 07-01-2015 10:03 PM

Well tomorrow I'll see if one of the mods will correct the date for me.

thanks Skaduzy at least this mistake didn't leave me scrambling to straighten out wrong addresses sent out LOL

If I have your address and info then you don't need to send it again unless something changes.

JNCT14 07-07-2015 01:29 AM

I am in - starting to think of ideas.....

MarionsQuilts 07-09-2015 11:56 AM

I'm in again, you have all my info - I sent you a PM .. nothing has changed for me!!!

Thanks so much for all this organizing! I love doing this!

MizMelly 07-10-2015 05:35 PM

I'm in again too!!! I have lots and lots of ideas as usual.

Kassaundra 07-11-2015 04:29 PM

I don't know if this will copy and paste or not, trying it from work computer so can't upload the pic. This is a block I just finished for a swap, but it is what I intend to do w/ the peacock fabric for this new wh (well 2 of them b/c I for sure am keeping one!!!)

Wow Kass, that really will look like my avatar. cool
peace

Rennie 07-12-2015 07:02 AM

Kassaundra, that is absolutely beautiful! I love birds of all types so I know the peacock one will turn out great!

MizMelly, I too keep thinking of things for the next one (probably not applique, Kass ! :) ) But it is like when I go to the K&W for supper and there is so much to choose from - I can never make up my mind!

Rennie 07-12-2015 07:04 AM

Speaking of avatars, is there a way to look at the avatars so that they are bigger? Some of these are lovely and I want to actually see them better - but I don't know how.

Hey everybody, how is summer going so far? Are there any ideas kicking around? I know what i am going to do and will be picking out autumn influenced pallet of fabrics this weekend. I just love when the idea starts to take shape and I am anxious to get started!
hope everyone is well. JNCT14, how is your foot?
peace

JNCT14 07-29-2015 05:34 PM

Hey ube foot is better. I was trying to get a quilt done for Durham Fair but not going to happen. Every spare minute is being spent on replacing my pool deck. Old deck ripped up, new framing new boards. That and three jobs isnt leaving much time left over for quilting. And now that youth cheer has begun its BOW season. Ugh. I need 60 by August 16th. Plus our annual PoCo Fest ....ok I need to stop whining....

Hi Swap Buds, What a beautiful Sunday it has been. My first finished flimsy in, well, forever!

I titled this one "Stars in my Eyes"

I saw the video from MSQC, through 24Blocks.

http://24blocks.com/2015/07/under-th..._term=20150710

Thought it would be a great way to use some of my scraps and it certainly is, even though it really didn't put a dent in the scrap bin.:D I stopped at 58"W x 72"L. I couldn't string piece this one with every star being a different fabric it would be very difficult to organize. If the star points were all the same it would have been very easy to string piece. I assembled it row by row and made sure every piece was in place before sewing. I love the way it turned out.

Now to turn my efforts to the wall hanging I'm planning!:D Hope every ones summer is being spent well.
peace

OH WOW Ube, that is awesome!!! What a lot of work LOL I think I will have to wait until I retire before I even contemplate trying something like that!

So I've got my wall hanging almost done ... I'm just trying to find some flowers that I can use to quilt it together. I have successfully done two pieces of applique on this wall hanging, and of course, a little bit of embroidery!

Here's what I have so far

Kassaundra 08-02-2015 03:52 PM

Beautiful WH

and awesome quilt.

ube quilting 08-02-2015 04:15 PM

Very pretty geisha. This is really weird, My WH is also an Asian theme! What fun!
peace

EDIT: Marion, this was not hard at all. Just three sizes of pieces, it is just that there are so many of them.
I did just a few rows at a time between other things.
peace

JNCT14 08-03-2015 01:09 AM

All those postings are beautiful. Im still thinking...

skaduzy 08-03-2015 06:11 PM

I'm still thinking Christmas, but not a panel. It's a pattern I've had tucked away for a few years and have wanted to try.

JNCT14 08-04-2015 01:07 AM

So I have two ideas; one is using a couple of beautiful Japanese apllique patterns, or a Christmas advent calendar. What do you think?

ube quilting 08-05-2015 03:52 PM

I'm thinkin' Japanese applique.

One of my plans is a swan theme. Another is very homey. And then there is the one with apples. Oh my, what's a girl to do?
peace

Kassaundra 08-05-2015 03:56 PM

Chinise, Japanese, peacocks, we seem to be on a similar page.

JNCT14 08-20-2015 02:16 AM

I figured I would post, its been quiet. I assume people are on vacation or getting resdy for a new school year. I haven't done anything. My quilt is sitting yhere and I haven't started my wall hanging. But my pool deck is fone and all volunteer work is quiet so I hope to start things soon. Happy end of summer, all!

Hi JNCT, it has been a quite summer. I have another picture of a quilt though not related to the wall hanging swap. I think this has been on my design wall since 2006. No rush, ha ha! I am appliqueing the tails on right now and then will decide how I want to set them in the quilt. There are 16 cats total.

Title: Ginger & Rhubarb

JNCT14 08-22-2015 04:39 PM

Oh I LOVE that pattern! And I am not much of a cat fan. Its so cool!

Kassaundra 08-22-2015 06:32 PM

That is such a cool cat pattern, have never seen it before.

Anoka Quilter 08-24-2015 02:30 PM

Ube, what a great cat pattern. Another one to add to my collection.

CarolinePaj 08-25-2015 04:12 PM

Hi Guys,

I decided it is time to start work on this one..... But I haven't chosen a theme/idea yet.... But you are all inspiring me!

Hugs

Caroline

quiltymom 08-26-2015 07:03 AM

ube quilting 08-26-2015 03:41 PM

Welcome back swap buds. Once again I have several ideas and have not started any of them yet. My ideas jump to everything from apples to diamonds to (homey ?:D) to pinwheels to swans to trees. There is so much to choose from. Oh, and I have a wonderful folk art panel w/crows to try something on. Aghhhhh:D

Focus, focus, focus

Rhonda 09-02-2015 09:17 PM

we'd love to see some pics of fabrics you are going to use or thinking of using or any patterns you might use.
Pictures are a great way to share what you are working on!! You won't be spoiling any surprises as noone knows who gets what wall hanging til it arrives in the mailbox!!

so post some pics and let us see your progress!!!

ube quilting 09-03-2015 03:49 PM

Here's my progress so far!

MY DH said this looked like fart. I'm still LOL.

really, no progress so far.......
peace

JNCT14 09-03-2015 04:55 PM

I finally started mine. Not what I was intending but its going to be pretty. I will take pictures this weekend.

Kassaundra 09-03-2015 05:40 PM

I know what I am doing on the broad strokes, that peacock panel done as an attic window. Not sure what I'm doing for quilting or maybe some detail hand work added. Haven't started yet, but need to get on the ball.

OK here is a picture.

ube quilting 09-06-2015 03:27 AM

Oh, very pretty. Like a desert flower.

I just moved my sewing area from my downstairs studio to my upstairs living room. I needed a change. so my sewing space has expanded to two floors now. DH thinks it's because I don't want to be so isolated in the basement. Ha ha!
peace

JNCT14 09-07-2015 02:50 AM

Love that, ube. My wallhanging is coming along well although the pattern instructions were wrong and I had some starts and stops.
