I agree klaws, love the pics. Don't worry about all those "extra's" ladies....If you fullfill the swap and mail on time, to me or anyone else that is really wonderful. Various swaps on the board ladies are quitting because they can't afford all the extra's they think should be sent....just my opinion. Hope this swap doesn't go there....

Oh Jaba, I hate to think of such a thing. Gives me much pause for thought. I am guilty of being "over-the-top", it brings me joy to send a package full of fun stuff to my partner. I never thought about how it might make someone feel obligated to do the same or sad if they couldn't. Other than edible/drinkables, I usually send sewn things or stuff out of my already owned treasures.

Thank you for pointing this out.

Patchesnposies 06-09-2015 06:18 PM

Rosemary, what a wonderful quilt. It is beautiful, thanks for posting the picture.

lynnie 06-09-2015 06:38 PM

Rosemary, you quilt is awesome, so very pretty and all those perfect points.
very nice color scheme and beautiful work. a lot to be proud of.

klaws 06-10-2015 03:13 AM

Rosemary what a beautiful quilt. Love it!!!

nhnative 06-10-2015 04:33 AM

Rosemary what a wonderful quilt. Really nice colors.

There is so much drama on the other swaps. The swappers are following the rules and then some are complaining about how much one person puts in the package. This swap is a good one and I hope it stays that way. We all know what we want to put in the swap and if some of the others feel that all they can put in is just the main item then that's ok too. This is supposed to be FUN.

Ladybug 1938 06-10-2015 05:38 AM

If you feel so inclined to add extras to a package I say fine, and I would hope that no one would take it as a need to compete... I have things here at home I hope someone can use and if not pass them on... I only buy what I need for the swap and maybe a goodie, the rest is from my goodie drawer....Thank the person in a private message for the extras and decide for yourself whether to include them in a picture.

Ladybug 1938 06-10-2015 05:40 AM

Thanks for the compliments on the quilt. Need to put binding on it, hanging sleeve and Signature square, hopefully today, very dark and rainy out there.

klaws 06-10-2015 06:20 AM

We've never had a problem here about extras. There is too much DRAMA on the mug rug swap. I won't be joining in again. I hope that doesn't happen here.

Also, I noticed that all reference to no pictures have been deleted from this thread. So I am assuming that we can post pictures. Yippee!!!

lynnie 06-10-2015 08:02 AM

no pictures yet?!?!?WHAAAA!!! I need to see some photos. I need some inspiration. can't wait to see what starts to come in.

nhnative 06-10-2015 09:39 AM

Karen I didn't notice until you just said something. I think it was the pics of one person that isn't even anyone on our swaps. I don't think we ever had a problem on this swap

Rosemary, this is exactly how I feel. I have so much accumulated sewing, quilting, crafting stuff, (not to mention linens, doilies, vintage doo dads) that passing some of it on to someone who might be able to use it or give it to someone else feels right to me. I'd never want to make someone not want to participate in a swap, though.

I appreciate the words of wisdom from you. Thanks for bringing this whole swap thing back into focus.

Thanks Karen, for letting us know. I think as long as we are sensible we can still share. That makes me SO happy!

ctyankee 06-10-2015 01:18 PM

Rosemary -- what a beautiful quilt! How long did that take you to do?

I mailed a package to my swap partner after work today. She will receive it on Friday, 6/12. Yippee!

Please don't give up on the mug rug swap just because of a little nonsense going on, although I feel a headache coming on thinking about it. I'm hoping things won't change, but it's not my call. Just saying.

Her handwork is exquisite! I feel very privileged to be on the receiving end of this most wonderful swap package! Thank you doesn't quite say it all, but I love everything! Thank you! :)

lynnie 06-10-2015 03:26 PM

Linda, your work is beautiful...just beautiful!!!

cuppy 06-10-2015 05:25 PM

Lovely needle case, sent mine out today Food was the theme! Wonder what next month theme will be.

klaws 06-10-2015 05:29 PM

Next month will be red, white and/or blue. Since a lot of the other swaps have been Patriotic, any of those colors can be used. It doesn't need to be Patriotic.

jaba 06-10-2015 05:31 PM

Just beautiful "miss dugas" as always! I will take your lacy creations anytime, must be the girly in me. Awesome!!

jaba 06-10-2015 05:36 PM

Red, white and blue...perfect. Need to get my quilt room set up again and I can sew and sew and sew!!! New table should be here tomorrow, then decide the arrangement, and then paint..ugh. Any volunteers for that part?

cuppy 06-10-2015 05:37 PM

One time I got a fancy ,all white one, with a beach theme a shell with a pearl in it and it was lace and beads , oh real gurly made by Jaba. Just adore it. lI want to make one with a beach theme, sea shells and a sea turtle, got a real neat pattern.

jaba 06-10-2015 05:53 PM

OMG cuppy, I forgot about that! Just 1 of my "idea's" was on vacation and even picked up those shells all by myself.:) I even have more of those shells...idea maybe....red/white/blue..we'll see. Can't quite picture that yet but you never know. Think it must be those sleepless nights and dreams I have, then I have to see on e-mail if i was dreaming or not?? How scary is that?

lynnie 06-10-2015 06:18 PM

for the swap is it both nc and pc or just one.
(I hate having to do both) I know, i'm a whiner!
I missed this month and missed chatting with all of you.
I didn't say much coz I felt like an outsider.
I missed a lot of chatter and what was happening with everyone.
Like did Mary's farm get any new calves, or a cute baby bull. stuff like that.
everyone, have a great night.

ljdugas31 06-10-2015 06:29 PM

nhnative 06-11-2015 09:38 AM

Linda what a great pc and nc you made for Pamela. You always make a wonderful swap. Just beautiful.

I just mailed my package to my partner and she should get it Saturday.

suzy0879 06-11-2015 11:43 AM

Beautiful work Linda and Rosemary.

Rosemary I don't know how far you are moving but I have moved my sewing room things in garbage cans on wheels. They have to be the sturdy ones for the wheels will not hold up well on cheap cans. I have maybe a half dozen that I store till we are ready to move again. They hold all the weight of the fabric well and you can move a ton of stuff in just 1 can. When my husband is ready to build another house I just pull out all of my cans and load them and labeling everything in a book if I have to store it. That way I know where the item is that I just have to have to finish a project. Just thought it might help with your move.

I mailed my pc's today so they are on the way to you ladies. Hope you enjoy them.

I am sorry but I forgot and didn't take pictures of Jan's pc. I was in such a hurry to get it in the mail till I forgot. I had to open both of my pc's that I wanted to mail today because I forgot again to take pictures. I guess my mind is in the absent mode.

I hope everyone is having a great sewing day and just accomplishing wonders.

lawsonmugs 06-11-2015 03:16 PM

Wow several of us mailed the last couple of days. Should start seeing pictures soon.Yeah!!!
