I'm glad you liked your parcels quiltymom and lauriejo.

I sometimes worry that they're too 'Scottish'.

We import virtually all our quilting stuff from you guys (but pay double) so I try to find things you might not usually see.

'It's a sair fecht for a half loaf.' (It's hard work, lol ;))

To me getting something from another country that we wouldn't have here is one of the appealing things about having an international sp. I wouldn't care if there wasn't anything quilty- but if you have something quilt related that isn't here that's good too. I was wondering I often see that needles are made in Great Britain, are they a good buy for you there or are they as expensive as here? it just a thought.
What a cute tarty owl!

You won't believe this, but I was looking for some good quality easy thread needles recently (don't do the hand-sewing thing - they were for burying tails). It was actually cheaper for me to buy them on eBay US and ship them over...........

That is truly sad Knitette. And useful to note that just because they come from there they are not necessarily any cheaper for you.
But today I was at the PO again and I got some info on the international shipping. The rate for a parcel is for any weight up to 4 pounds, so if it is a pound or 3, or 4 it is going to be the same price-and you fill out the smaller customs form. If it is over 4 lbs. the rate is higher but you can get insurance on the package-I didn't ask what it went up to nor how much the insurance would cost. So next time I will plan on getting as close to the 4 without going over.

Oh good find Verna!
