I am finished with my needlebook. Hope my partner likes a certain color I used. It is very different then the one I did for the last needlebook swap. I used a beautiful piece of hand dyed wool I bought at the 2012 Quilt Show in Paducah. Yall are very right.....Felt and Wool are very different. :) Now, there is still lots of time to make a suprise to go with it. :)

peaceandjoy 06-01-2012 03:50 PM

I'd love to do one! Sending a PM.

JuneBillie 06-07-2012 12:09 AM

I hope he hitches along my way.:D Very cute.

TiltedEars 06-07-2012 05:39 PM

I sure love yo-yos! That's a cutie for sure. I'm making my needle case with hexies.

Judith1005 06-07-2012 05:48 PM

I love Hexies too! My last turtle had hexi's. I went with non traditional color and a different pattern for this turtle. This was my first time making yoyo's. They were sooooo much fun to make. (I adore turtle's. Hope my super secret partner does too!?.)

SewExtremeSeams 06-08-2012 06:43 AM

Wonderful, Abd! You always come up with terrific ideas. I love the beading for your closures.

Can you explain the thread spool? It's a little hard to tell what is going on with the photo. Thanks for your inspirations.

JuneBillie 06-08-2012 08:20 AM

Oh what nice needle books. They are so artsy, and you are very creative. Great sewing!

The thread holder is just a sewn strap of fabric with a knot in the bottom for the thread to stay on, you could use ribbon if it is stiff enougn to go through the spool.

Judith1005 06-08-2012 10:10 AM

ABD, you are soo creative. I love your needlebooks. That bunny one has captured my heart. Thank you for posting all your awesome creations.

brushandthimble 06-08-2012 02:48 PM

abdconsultant, they are adorable!! I love the doggie!

Neesie 06-08-2012 03:09 PM

Those are soooooo cute! I'm afraid the one I'm doing is going to turn out awfully boring, compared to all the cute ones posted!

goldsberry921 06-08-2012 03:46 PM

Come on Neesie, let's just go back to the drawing board...or a fabric store and have a pity party, tomorrow??? LOL

Any idea that involves fabric shopping and possible dark chocolate, is a sure winner!

I had a few new ideas, just as I was falling asleep, last night. Really "FANTASTIC!" ideas! Ever noticed how one's ideas seem so much more brilliant, when one is half-asleep? Now that it's morning . . . well, I'm not so sure. :p

Oh, you got it bad Nessie! :D I have a little tablet in the drawer next to my side of the bed just so I can write down all of the things I want to remember next morning, in case I wake up "thinking" of all that needs to be done. I can rearrange all of my furniture, etc. and leap tall buildings in that half asleep state. :D:D

JuneBillie 06-09-2012 07:13 AM

I did the same last night. I was more than half asleep, and got a great idea for a project. Hope I manage to keep it stored.:D

Neesie 06-09-2012 07:38 AM

I do need to keep a note pad and pencil, next to my bedside (for "must do" and "needed" items). However, I'm not sure it'd be possible to describe some of my crazed ideas. I do kinda remember one of last night's brilliant ideas . . . and it involved stitching and turning a part of the needle case, in a rather impossible way. Made sense, last night, though. :D

I can just see rushing to cut some fabric, then afterwards thinking, "What the heck have I done?????" :D

CAS49OR 06-09-2012 09:54 AM

Some of your best ideas come when you are half asleep. It is a good idea to have a notebook to write them down (wish I did that) because sometimes you will not remember your brilliance when fully awake!

I just found a pattern but not sure if I want to attempt it. Normally I go to my friend's house to get some help. I am not good at reading patterns, I 'm the first to admit it!! Man!! Claudia picked a fine time to go to Louisiana!!!! Good thing she is coming back today!!!! LOL
