I have just finished two and working on others, aybe my partner will like one of them anyway, I'll watch for the assignment...

JuneBillie 05-15-2012 06:25 PM

I have my plan now of what I want to make. I know the type of fabric I want to use, just have to go look through my stash.

quiltymom 05-18-2012 06:22 AM

Just sent in P.M. sounds like fun. My frist time for this one can't wait!!!!

JuneBillie 05-18-2012 06:50 AM

Yay, glad to have another on board.

brushandthimble 05-18-2012 12:51 PM

Mine is almost complete, only have to decide on a closing. My friend was here today as I made them and she went home with one:)

goldsberry921 05-18-2012 01:07 PM

The first one I made, I gave to my friend's sewing student and I've made 2 more since then. I may make a few more this weekend so I can get the hang of it. :)

JuneBillie 05-19-2012 07:34 PM

I am still working on getting mine together. Those of you that have made several, you are welcome to show us a little glimpse.

Neesie 05-20-2012 06:25 AM

This waiting for favorite colors, is a bit of a problem! I'd like to go ahead and get my needle case finished, in order to mail it quickly. Does anyone DISLIKE blue or brown? What about gray? Trying to think of a "usually liked" color, to use.

With the pin cushions, I had them ready and mailed, that first Monday. As long as it's taking some of them to reach their new homes, I'd like to have the needle case ready to mail quickly, as well. :-\

JuneBillie 05-20-2012 07:10 AM

I will like whatever color, and style anyone makes. I just like surprises.

MizMelly 05-20-2012 09:47 AM

Hello, I just joined and want in on this swap!! Too much fun!! I've PM'd already also!

JuneBillie 05-20-2012 01:57 PM

Glad your here MizMelly

brushandthimble 05-20-2012 01:59 PM

I thought about posting a pic, but hate to spoil the suspense

goldsberry921 05-20-2012 03:16 PM

I am not picky if you get me Neesie! What part of Central Texas are you in? I'm in Round Rock, maybe we can just meet and swap LOL

Howdy and welcome, from TX!

MizMelly 05-20-2012 04:11 PM

Howdy back atcha' all! I have a really cool design for a cutie needle case, can't wait to get started on it. Think I'll make a prototype to see how it looks, then wait to find out what colors my partner will like. Me, I don't really care what colors I get, it's the fun of getting someone's original artwork that counts!

I'm a bit east of Georgetown. I wonder how many of us are from around this area. :)

I'm not too picky, either. I put down three "favorite" colors, but keep remembering more "favorites." :D

JuneBillie 05-20-2012 07:30 PM

Yeah, I don't want to spoil anyone's surprise, but gotta kid everyone a bit. I think we will have fun seeing all the pics when the time comes.

goldsberry921 05-21-2012 02:24 AM

I agree with you June Billie!!! Though it would be sssoooo much easier for me and Neesie just to get it over with since we are so close by... just saying LOL

Seriously, I know it will be lots of fun. For the last year, I've participated in the monthly doll quilt swaps and have ventured to the needle case exchange and the modern mini quilt for this month. I am really excited about both swaps.

LOL That would be a lot faster! I got about half-way on one, then came up with a different idea, to try. At this point, it's anyone's guess, what I'll end up sending! :D

The swaps are fun! Between waiting for a package and waiting for one's secret pal to comment, on the package you've sent, it's like being on both sides of a surprise party! :)

goldsberry921 05-21-2012 01:24 PM

Oh yeah!! I agree Neesie!! When I do the doll quilt swaps, I have mine made at the beginning of the month. It's just awesome knowing the package is traveling to it's destination. It's a rush so to speak! I like looking at past ideas to get insight to make one.

Here is another needlecase I designed. Just decided to draw a sewing machine on solid fabric & use felt{not wool} for the needles, also I didn't sew in the labels just pinned them for now and made xtras for the new owner. I will keep this one since its not 100% wool. I thought this might give someone some ideas.

Very cute! I'm still going back and forth, with mine; can't make up my mind, how I want it to look. :p

Now that is an organized needlecase, Abd! Love your sewing machine. Thank you and yes it does help set off a whole string of ideas.

About a month ago I was in a LQS talking to the salesperson about the cost of wool. She was telling me that is getting so pricey. I paid about $5 for a 5x7 piece of wool. It really limited what I felt I needed.

Anyone have a good online source where they purchased wool felt at an affordable price? I do look for wool garments at thrift stores but they usually don't come in the array of bright colors that I love.

JuneBillie 05-22-2012 01:16 PM

What a great needle holder. You always come up with such cool ideas.

quiltymom 05-23-2012 08:48 AM

I'm not picky at all I love everything and colors!!!!

lynnie 05-26-2012 07:57 AM

Well, I got a little carried away with the needlebooks. Attached are pictures of the ones I did. I did this particular one because I have wanted one for the longest time. I always get my embroidery, applique and x-stitch needles mixed up.

These needle books are very nice. I can see why you would want one. I have always wondered about making one of these too. Very pretty indeed!

goldsberry921 05-29-2012 06:00 AM

How pretty!!! I've made 3 so far off the fly. However, I was going through some quilting patterns and came across a needle case pattern that was sent to me, so, I may try that one too!

Dear Friends,
Many of you know Jan Rutherford. She is a very special sister/friend of mine. I need to let you know that her sweet husband of 31 years passed away suddenly at 2:35 this morning. Jan is devastated, as you can imagine, but her faith in God is STRONG. She will make it through this, but she will need the love and support of her quilty friends. Feel free to PM Quilty-Louise, Lori Peercy, the moderator of this swap or me for her address if you are so inclined. It will mean so much to her to have you all praying for her during this most difficult time.

JuneBillie 05-29-2012 04:27 PM

I am so so sorry to hear this news, and have Jan, and her family in my prayers.

goldsberry921 05-29-2012 05:01 PM

My most sincerest condolences for Jan. May she be enfolded with peace and strength. May she be graced by HIS COMFORT.

I am still praying for you Jan, and your dear family during this difficult time. God is your comfort, and everlasting peace. He is walking along side you at this time.

Today is my dear momma's birthday. Happy Birthday in Heaven Momma! She went there March 13 of this year. God is still walking along side all of us.
