Boy oh boy! Everyone keeps adding to their wish lists, and everything I read seems to cost more than $20. Someone who gets my gifts will be very disappointed. I give gifts from the heart, not the pocketbook, and will be happy with the same. My little DGD loved going to the Dollar Store and buying some piece of $ junk, then complaining when it broke before she ever got home. I told her if she saved that dollar from her trips to the store, she could have $10 to buy something nice that wouldn't break.

I got my person for Secret Santa, I'm so excited! I feel like I shorted mine as I did not say much in the official sign up. Hope my Sants sees this and it helps. I love scrap quilts so any piece of fabric 2x2 or bigger is always appreciated. I am planning a Halloween quilt also...I love chocolate carmels, have a nook that I am on daily....

I am with you, to me gifts from the heart mean more than monetary gifts.

Got my partners name, will most likely be mailing off early as I will be crazy closer to the mailing deadline. Mom is having surgery next month.

grann of 6 10-02-2013 04:52 AM

Yep, make me something nice, or send me fabric to make my own something nice. Don't need any more books, no more templates, no more trinkets, don't eat chocolate or drink coffee, and eat very little in the line of sweets, so save the candy for someone else. Heidi asks for very little, but loves fluffy stuffed toys. She's not much for snacks either, since she is watching her lovely figure.

ljs317 10-02-2013 05:12 AM

I have my Secret Santa name!!! I have my Name!!!!!! Stalked some of her past posts and feel I know her a little bit so off to the quilt shop on Friday. Seven of our quilt shops are having a scavenger hunt on Friday so I know I can pick up so great quilt items. I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it. Woot Woot

rwquilts 10-02-2013 05:32 AM

You guys are driving me crazy, crazy and crazy!!!!!!! I refuse to pout just because I haven't received my name yet! You know how the saying goes..."first the worst, second the same, last the best of all the game"? LOL! I'm going to assume I'm one of the "best" until someone tells me differently. :):)

I'm going to remember that one, Neesie. I have a feeling it will apply to many and myriad situations that have absolutely nothing to do with actually physically falling off a chair. No?

Imagine a very slight southern accent, on top of that proper British voice. :D

Thanks for the warning. I once looked up (what I thought was) an innocent-sounding quilt pattern and . . . oh, my! I was closing windows and new ones kept opening, before I could get rid of the old ones. I was actually getting into a panic, so finally had to just hit the OFF button, on my computer!

all kidding aside, I am hoping for some knee relief.......don't know if they have them throughout the country but worth a "look-into"

Thanks, Going to the knee Dr. today...have one knee replacement since spring...other knee is in question. Will probably be doing the injection today, since we have already talked about it. Otherwise I will be joining the girls in the hole for a "shot"...

Tomorrow morning I am off to the best quilt shop in Maine. It's not local, it is 3hrs one way. DD is going to trade her Janome in on the new one. Hopefully I can find lots of goodies for my SS and monthly SP.

Most of the expensive stuff is probably just kidding and being silly. :)

Don't feel alone requilts......I haven't received my name either! Hoping to hear something soon! I already have a couple made items to put into the box....just need to know my 'name' so I can see what she likes....I love to give as much as to receive!

Obviously you also are one of the "best"s????? LOL! I've made some fun things, but until I have an idea of colors, etc, I don't want to do too much so I can custom it to my SS!!!! I think that I'll put a flat rate box together so I know what size I'm working with for mailing purposes and won't worry about weight as much as size...

Neesie 10-02-2013 06:08 AM

I hope, hope, hope I get my SSee name, today! Except for a few generic items, I'm waiting until I have a name, to buy or make anything.

To the person who gets my name - I'm very easy to please and don't need/want anything expensive. I love fabric and would especially love children's I Spy type or 'soft' Shabby Chic prints (planning on Shabby Chic scrappy-type quilt, in near future). Larger scraps are fine. I love homemade items - pincushions, needle cases, ornaments, whatever.

Please do not send anything for Phoebe (my avatar), as she's on a Rx diet and I do not let her have stuffed toys (she immediately shreds them). She has sturdy toys, already.

If you feel you need to spend more money, please consider a donation (however small) to the link below my siggy. :)

mdall 10-02-2013 06:09 AM

RWquilts and Stitch124, we all must be the best because we all are still waiting. Oh, I guess Ill just have to occupy myself with going to a quilt meeting. We are starting on a project called a twisted tree. Maybe my name will be here when i get home later. Have a great day everyone.

Haven't yet received mine, either. Either we're the best . . . or she just doesn't know what to do with us. :D

Stitch124 10-02-2013 06:18 AM

rwquilts -- that is an excellent idea!!! I have one I was going to use for my tablerunner swap parter, but decided to change the box to one that has to be weighed. I don't think the tablerunner and a few goodies will cost as much as the nedium flat rate box which was $12.60. Whoever's name I get will get things that I would consider nice to have, but I really like making things.......looking forward to seeing who I get!

Grann of 6, I am sure we all were joking if we put some outrageous gift down. I know I was.

Excellent Idea on the flat rate box....I have one ready to go!

I am sending in the flat rate boxes also. Most of the time I add homemade jams and jellies to my boxes so the weight can get up there and with the flat rate I dont have to worry about busting my budget.

For anyone looking, I was looking through Joannes sale items today online and they are having some amazing sale prices for scissors, books, patterns, and other goodies. I only made it through the first 10 pages and all of those items were under 9 bucks. I found a book on Biscuit quilts and a set of 60 quilt labels on their I would love to add to my list if it wasnt already out there in cyber world somewhere.

I wouldn't be disappointed! I love surprizes and the fun is in the preparing & giving of the gift and I reckon the joy of receiving such a gift is knowing the giver had the same joy in preparing the gift.

Haven't got my name either and since my company has gone home, I'M READY! But I am patient, will take my place with those that are still waiting.
Just in case someone has my name, I would love to have a pincushion/mug rug/fabric strips, 21/2" wide.

My lady likes the same as you...doesn't want anything not quilt related....and from her pictures...she makes pretty quilts.

I have my name and it is a new person that I have never swapped with so I am excited. To me, the greatest gift of all in this swap is getting to know another quilter and how they came to enjoy quilting. I am looking forward to putting little treasures together for my swap partner....she is quite far away from my neck of the woods.

createfourpaws 10-02-2013 06:53 AM

wow just since I posted before leaving for work, there is almost a full page to catch up on.

I don't think I said much.....one main thing for me is that I am diabetic...so have to watch the sweets. I am not a fan of lime green fabrics, my favorite fabric is batiks, fav colors are red, black and purple......also prefer bold and bright....not into the dark/dull fabric. not a big fan of civil war or 30's. Into hand embroidery along with machine embroidery.

OMG I'm horrified lol, while I'm a gadget collector, I'm also a pattern collector lol and discovered I don't have the ribbon bargello pattern WHAT I have all the bargello patterns even the books. Soooooooo hehehe if my SS is watching there's an idea....OK OK NO I have never made one, BUT I do have fabric picked out for two of the patterns.....My Fiance' commented the other night about maybe just maybe you should do something with all the toys in your sewing studio and patterns....WELL I'm a collector silly just like you with all your guns, cars ect....hum not a word after that.....

buddy'smom 10-02-2013 08:02 AM

I didn't get mine either, I would love a long arm, haha.. I'm not picky, I love 30's fabric's Halloween and most favorite Christmas. Oh, but I do have ton's of books, magazines, & templates. Any SS mind used mags. in ther box????

Cheesehead 10-02-2013 08:10 AM

:( No name for me yet. I am sooooo glad its a slow day at work so I can sit and see all the fun things the people in the hole are up to! Since it is 5:00 somewhere I have lived I think it is time for a glass of virtual wine. Knitette, I lived in Kilmun for 1 1/2 years what colour is the fuzzy thing? I'm trying to remember.
