Well good morning fellow Santas! I know the suns not up yet, but I'm fixing to be slaving away in my studio shortly. Got some UFO's just waiting to be finished! Of course I've got to wrap all those presents in my SS box so I can get it in the mail too.

Today's hint: Do you like to play cowboys & Indians??

I have some funky makeup too! We can use it to help with our disguises!!!
Our committee seems to be off to a great start!!! Now how do we convince the committee that everything has to go to you or me?!?! Maybe we should be discussing in someplace not so public!! ooppps!

Funky makeup sounds good, too! Let's make sure to have someone take a group photo, as we're gonna look fantastic! :) :D

I reckon the more committee members we have, the more loot . . . uh, I mean DONATIONS we'll gather. I'll first sort all of the 'donations' and group them, according to how much I want . . . uhhhh, I mean according to how much FABRIC there is, etc. I may need to remove a few pieces for 'testing' . . . just to make sure it's safe, you understand! After I've selected a good quantity of 'test' pieces, I'll pass the lot to you, so that you can remove any you think should be removed. Then we'll take what's left and divide it up, among all of the 'misunderstood' quilters.

I got my box almost 2 weeks ago..... and she put her REAL NAME so I've no clue as to who she really is and I'm not going to go through 22,000+ members to look at profile :) but her first name start with the letter "P"

OHHHH Leota!!! That is going to drive you a bit nuts until opening day!!! I bet you are going to assign Mom to checking the profiles......hehe

Tink's Mom 10-28-2013 06:37 AM

You are such a chatty group! I can't tell if I've been raided over the weekend or if I left the mess in my sewing room...I probably need to check the status on a few raiders over the weekend...

Back to straightening up my mess....

Cheesehead 10-28-2013 06:40 AM

SS clue for the day...my swap partner has a river that runs through her state.

I would but hazelB is terrified of computers... That's why she has not posted on here is that she doesn't like computers but she loves me reading all the posts.... I don't do that as much this year as I have in the past...with dh's cancer issues this year and moving all her earthly belonging out of the paid storage unit, sorting through 100 18 gal. totes of fabric and treasures plus 25 smaller totes of books ( a lot of quilting mags and books) i barely have time to even long on here....hummmmm.... maybe I should put her ont eh computer... then I can go through and just disgard stuff.... noooo that's not fair and I'd end up keeping more than her .. ha ha ...
OH she's getting her box ready to ship too :D

But does the river divide one state from the other? We have a river that starts here and ends many states away.

Does this mean a river, as in only one? Does it mean a river, as in at least one? :p

Neesie 10-28-2013 07:26 AM

Today's SS hint - You do not live in a state, directly north of mine.

The river I am thinking of runs through two states.

purtercat92 10-28-2013 09:28 AM

Wow, so much to catch up on. I am almost ready to send my secret person's box out. I see my person has been a little under the weather lately so I will put some stuff in there to keep you busy!!! My computer has been down for well over a week, so I am on my work computer. There is no way I will ever be able to catch up on all the chatter on here, so I guess I am in the good girl corner :) Can't be naughty if I can't get on to respond. Hoping to get my computer up and running again this week. I got my box from my secret santa on Thursday!!!! So excited I had to call my mom!!!!! I just know I will love everything as I am very easy to please and just enjoy the simple fact that someone cared enough about me to send me something!!!!! What great fun!!!

buddy'smom 10-28-2013 10:10 AM

Well at this time next week I'll be having complete knee replacement, so gonna get alot of tracing done for my hand embroidery. I'll be down for a while, can't drive for 6 weeks, so they say??? I most likely will..

Judylee2 10-28-2013 10:33 AM

Hello there Santas! OMG! I cant believe how many Santas have already shipped their packages. I am wrapping mine and getting it ready to mail tomorrow if all goes well! I had to get my last minute noisy box makers and do a little painting, LOL. I am having so much fun!

Wonnie 10-28-2013 10:41 AM

HmmmmmHmmmm...Cheesehead.....
You.never told me if we shared the same birth month.....c'mon now...you can tell ME.

Wonnie 10-28-2013 10:56 AM

To my SSR...before your city was founded, it was the home of the Powatani Insists

tracibug 10-28-2013 10:59 AM

I have been one of those curiously absent partners... if my partner is out there and still has questions:

I love batiks and primitive things. Am on the hunt for plaid flannels, wools of all colors/patterns. Collect sock monkeys, owls, donkeys and green glassware. Would love a new bag or tote. Prefer dark chocolate over milk. Have 4 cats, 1 dog and 2 young boys I am teaching to sew.

Hope all is reasonably well with everyone these days. Snuggle up for the weather to come!

Wonnie 10-28-2013 11:10 AM

Insists? Insists??? Say WHAT????? That was SUPPOSE to be Indians!!! Have something called automatic word selection or something like that where you type the first couple of letters of your word and the Kindle picks a word it THINKS you want and I didn't catch it....sorry....

Retired Fire Chief 10-28-2013 11:17 AM

Tracibug, I am also one of those curiously absent partners and after reading a lot of the posts I feel a little guilty but I could never get up the nerve to jump into some of the hilarious banter. I didn't put too much information on my list of likes and dislikes because I am one of those impulse people. I can go to a quilt shop thinking I'm not going to get anything because I already have too many irons in the fire but more often than not I come out with an armload.

I spent the afternoon wrapping a bunch of boxes in the cutest snowman Christmas paper. The first box I picked up to pack everything in was too small so I had to resort to emptying a box in the basement that is just a little to large but it will have to work. So, tomorrow I will trudge to the post office to send my Secret Santa box to my partner who lives exactly 612.42 miles south of me, in a state that is much warmer than mine and in a state that is famous for animals and beautiful vegetation. Oh, a few more hints, I am Santa for someone who is bright but also claims to be a blue person.

Please don't ever hesitate to jump into the conversation. We can be trifle wacky, but we honestly won't bite. The more the merrier!

This hint is just a little scary. That makes me think of the old westerns, which always included someone being bitten by a snake. . . .

Oh, I'm sure there's a snake or two in my Santaee's neighborhood, but not right in their back yard. But the Indians being there once is real. Just won't tell what tribe it is 'cuz it would give it away!

Uh huh. Tell you what, bring that coconut rum over here to spice up my coffee and all will be forgiven. We may even be able to round up a crumb or two of that pumpkin cheesecake!

Whew!

Coconut rum, coffee, pumpkin cheesecake, and friends who understand a fellow-misunderstood quilter! What more could a gal possibly want? :) . . . well, except for more fabric, of course!

Nelco 10-28-2013 04:21 PM

none of the clues have got to me yet..Some are close - So guess my SS is not posting anything. Also Not on the down side but my ss has not posted on here in forever so clues are out. guess it is time for me to jump in the hole with all of you. I will even have a shot of the Coconut Rum on ice....I did look in the box I have been putting things in and I believe it is ready for me to close it and get it ready for the elves to deliver it.
