Thanks for the welcome wishes! Looking forward to making new friends! What have I been up to?? ...here goes! I have been in the process of 10 quilts since the end of May. 3 finished, 5 at the LAQ right now and 2 more to get to her before Christmas. 2 Doll quilts to match my granddaughter's large quilt, which is shown here. Continued on the next message... I think I have been busy.http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=493016&stc=1

ladysaint 09-25-2014 07:09 AM

Let's see what else, 3 Embroidered Halloween bags, Pillowcases to match quilts. (Found the best pattern in the entire world!) And oh yes, I have participated in 5 block swaps in the last 2 months. Also have fabric cut for 4 new quilts to start when I am done with Christmas. This is my first pincushion swap. What fun. I hope to hop in the chatter every now and then.
Take care everyone, Toni Ann

klaws 09-25-2014 08:22 AM

Wow, Toni Ann, you are one busy lady! Lynnie, and I thought you were the only one. Here is someone who could give you a run for the money! :D:D

lawsonmugs 09-25-2014 08:53 AM

Toni Ann beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing it.

lynnie 09-25-2014 10:30 AM

Toni Ann, love that quilt. thanks for the pictures. I've been busy doing my washcloths, (Crocheted)
Go for my mamo on the 7th and need one for all the ladies in the office. I made them pink for breast cancer month.
Last year, i made on the emb machine pink lace mirror cases. came out great, from Urban Threads. Ver nice .
I need an idea for next year. I need to start early, as i always, but i need to have about ten of the item b/c i don't know how many people will be working that day. So if anyone has a good idea, please let me know. thanks.
Just waiting impatiently for my name,
If you haven't already, come join the mystery train ride quilt. loads of chatter and fun. I know Mary is on board, and a few others that play with pincushions also.~~~~mary~~~~

ladysaint 09-25-2014 12:37 PM

Thank you ladies! lynnie...I do love Urban Threads, she has some very unique designs. For my friends last year, they all got pink ribbon mug rugs that are made in the hoop. Sew easy and they came out beautiful. They all loved them. The link to the pattern is: http://www.omasplace.com/ed/awareness-mug-rug/. I also have a few others that I did, but not sure where the pattern is from. I made 2 or 3 of each pattern. I will try to find out where the others are from if you are interested. I love making things "in-the-hoop" style.

I was reading up on the mystery train. I didn't really know what it was and the thread was hard to find. I do think I am too late, but will read on more and maybe next time they have one. Is it a monthly thing?

nhnative 09-25-2014 01:06 PM

Welcome Toni Ann. You sure have made lots of stuff. I wish I could get that motivated. I keep changing my mind about what to make for Christmas. It's going to be here soon and I'm not going to have anything done. At least the weather here is so nice. Mornings are cool and then it warms up to the 70's.

lynnie 09-25-2014 05:05 PM

Pat, don't worry, it pouring here today and we have 3 months till Christmas day.
My DH is Jewish and they always have nice weather for the holidays, this year it work out for them.

Toni Ann, the clues are given every Saturday. this past week we cut out and sewed our first 'clue'. the first clue
was the ammts of fabric we needed. This sat, we are told what to do next. Lurk for now and join the next time. this is my first train ride, so i;ll let you know how it turns out.

I bored and can't wait to get my partner. Anyone know how many swappers this time?

Looks like all is go for Mondays surgery, unless the doc calls tomorrow, so i won't be around Mon and maybe tues, I'm tough, so I'll be here tues. When i was in rehab for my back, i found a comp to get on to 'connect' with the outside world, read QB people.

klaws 09-25-2014 06:08 PM

Lynnie, to answer your question, we have 15 now (including me). Sept. swap we had 24 so we have a little ways to go yet and 5 days to do it.

lynnie 09-25-2014 07:53 PM

A lot of people make it first and then sign up. Lets hope for more. I was on the knitting board and put out an invite there. a lot of them quilt too. 15 is a good group so far. Like I said, I'm read to ship.

kiffie2413 09-26-2014 12:01 AM

Beautiful quilt, ladysaint!
Lynnie, had no idea you were facing another surgery, sending you some healing hugs, and fast recovery well wishes!
Can't sign up this month, just have too much going on. Hubby's still off work from his fall, femur fracture, surgery back in April. Just found out Ortho will have to go back in and pull the titanium rod/screws out, as they're rubbing and causing more pain/disability. We find out surgery date in November..scared about this, as at least with the rods in the leg is more stable...But worrying doesn't help a thing.
I do plan to give this swap a go in the near future, y'all sound like such a fun group!

Will also peek in now and again at all the great pcs/ncs I'm sure will be swapped!
Y'all have fun!
Kif

nhnative 09-26-2014 05:45 AM

It's 58 here this morning but going up to 78 this afternoon. Lynnie good luck with your surgery and sending prayers to you

Welcome Toni Ann and all our new swap friends.
Glad you are joining us. This is my 2nd month for the swap
since I started again.

I am looking through my fabrics for what I want to use.
Here are 2 of my possible choices, but of course that is
always likely to change if something else strikes my fancy.

Now for some update news about T (my daughter).

Thank you everyone for all the prayers, special thoughts,
and well wishes for this lil one and T.

T has been down graded from HIGH risk to moderate risk.
She is now 12 weeks and ALL is looking great. The Dr. is
very pleased with her progress.

I sent a copy of the u.s. to my hubs and said Papa!!! only
T decided she wanted the child to call him Poppy. His reply
back to that was "If I am going to be called a flower, I want
to be called chrysanthemum"

We started laughing to the point we were crying.

Baby daddy didn't like the fact that SHE asked me to come
with her to her ultrasound appt. So he gave her an ultimatum
him or her mom..... she told him to call his brother and tell
him he was moving in.

She said she REFUSES to play those kind of games, and she
also refuses to allow her child to be raised in a home where the
parents fight all the time.

I am gearing up in Ya-Ya mode now and making plans to make
lots of stuff. But until the "reveal" party I am holding off to find
out if she is having a boy or girl.

klaws 09-26-2014 08:12 AM

Louise, glad to hear that things are going along good. I'm still saying prayers that she will carry full term and have a very healthy baby!!! :boy::girl:

lynnie 09-26-2014 02:07 PM

Louise, still hoping and praying for her.

Kiffie, hope to see you soon here on this thread.

Thanks Pat, it's about 68 out and 76 inside. had the oven on all day to cook the brisket. Larry and DMIL said it turned out great.

Everyone, have a great day and a better night.

TOOMANYUFO'S 09-26-2014 06:54 PM

Ladybug 1938 09-27-2014 03:39 PM

Happy to see a few new people, I'm signed up for a PC... and have it made... Louise love love that orange material.. Wow just gorgeous... and yes I too like YO-YO's mostly smaller ones all the same size...
Had a week from hell and really don't want to have another one like that, can't begin to tell you all the miserable things that have happened to me... There were good things as well as not so great but the one that stands out the most was Wednesday. We went over to the Beach to my Beauty shop so I could have my hair done.. Was getting into the chair and my foot and left hand slipped at the same time... Yeppers I did go down with a bang... I was very fortunate that I didn't break any bone, but have some bad bruises... I twisted the ear thingy on my glasses pretty bad... I did get my hair done and we went over to Joe and Sue's and sat there for a bit.. John drove Joe's car around Gulf Highlands to make sure it ran okay and then we headed home... I was pretty much in the state of shock all day.. If you were wondering what I have been up to lately... Louise happy to hear about your daughter and will keep her on my prayer list...Prayers for anyone who needs them, I do list my PC friends on my list...

lynnie 09-27-2014 06:34 PM

So sorry to hear about your #e// week. i hope you're feeling better soon. A slip can hurt you for weeks. Glad you're back in the swap, we'd miss you. I just need to make some fancy pins, then i'm a go!

Working on the mystery train, what a ride!!!

klaws 09-27-2014 07:16 PM

I joined in on the mystery train. Why? I don't know. I guess I like chaos. I didn't get my granddaughters quilt finished for her birthday but I need to finish it to take to Ohio over Thanksgiving. I also need to make a tablerunner for my niece as a house warming gift for their new house they just built and take it with me at Thanksgiving. I just finished my holiday blocks for the swap here on QB, signed up for the October mini quilt swap and keep track of everyone signed up for this pc/nc swap. At least I have my pc and nc finished for October. Oh yeah, a friend wants me to make 5 pincushions for her as gifts. Whew!!!!!!

kiffie2413 09-27-2014 07:29 PM

Klaws,
You crack me up, as usual :D. Though sometimes I'm one that people probably try to keep out, not pull in...
Tho all of my friends usually think I'm pretty funny (as in haha AND toony loony). For instance, my quilt group "sisters" told me they couldn't believe I pointed out my own "quilt errors", Er, creative twists ;) when I was new to our lil group.
I asked, "Why not?" No one's perfect, we all were newbies at one time, and as for me, I'm always learning and fortunate to have some wonderful people to collaborate with. If I can't laugh at myself, it's a sad day...

Ladybug,
Glad nothing broken, and hope your bruises and aches heal soon!

Regards all,
Kif

nhnative 09-28-2014 05:22 AM

Ladybug you aren't alone on the bad times. I'm glad that you are ok and hope you have a better week. We need to keep you on the prayer list.

Klaws I can't believe all the things you have done. I still have a few days to decide what I'm going to make for the swap and some of you already have yours done.

Lynnie good luck to you on your surgery

The weather has been so nice here lately. I can't remember when it rained last and the foliage seems brighter every day.

Everyone have a great day

lawsonmugs 09-28-2014 06:47 AM

Sis hope your feeling better now. Lynnie good luck tomorrow.hope you heal quickly.

Ladybug 1938 09-28-2014 07:19 AM

Pat, Yes you all better keep me on your prayer list so I can get through these next few weeks, few things going on... But the fall only bruised me as far as I know... No Brain Damage... LOL :-) What in the world is the Mystery train?? and no I am not interested in getting into something else... :-(

nhnative 09-28-2014 10:45 AM

I finally decided. I'm in for 2 pincushions. Now I better hurry

lynnie 09-28-2014 01:36 PM

A Mystery Train Ride is a mystery quilt. Clues are given every week till the quilt is done. First week we are given fabric requirements. the following weeks a clue, such as how to cut and assemble pcs. it's great coz you get a little done each week. it seems to go faster and you look forward to the next Saturday when another clue is given and then you do that.
we're on our 3rd week now, and it's coming together nicely. ALSO...she give a new way of doing things and the traditional way, so you get to try a new technique and not really have to do it that way, there's many different ways to do the same thing. it's a lot of fun.

klaws 09-28-2014 06:08 PM

Lynnie, good luck with your surgery tomorrow. You will be in my thoughts.

lynnie 09-28-2014 06:16 PM

thanks all. My ankles swelled so badly tonight. I've never seen anything like this. I hope they don't cancel. It looks like i broke my foot. so VErY swelled up. The right one is twice the size of the left one. and the left is swelled to.
any home remedys???

Hello
Lynnie..keeping you in our prayers. So we did a little decorating in the front yard and I thought I would show you one of our projects..also here is a picture of my little doggie..his name is trouble

klaws 09-29-2014 08:30 AM

That witch is too funny! When I lived in Virginia, I did some woodworking and made a witch similar to that one. She was attached to a tree in our front yard. I also made some of those wooden deer that people put in their yards at Christmas. That's when I was married, had a nice house and garage to work in. I haven't had that in 14 years. :(
