TiltedEars 10-16-2014 10:44 AM

What a great package! I just love that apple pincushion. Nice work!!!

lynnie 10-16-2014 10:45 AM

Yes MARY, post pictures, of anything, we love them and your pics can tell alot about you too. W look at the backgrounds,
your kids running with the og, or gkids with the cat, or pretty tablerunner with fancy pins or fancy teacups est. we love it all. Still haven't finished next months, need one more thing.

lynnie 10-16-2014 10:46 AM

great pincushion package. great packing filler. balloons!

nhnative 10-16-2014 10:52 AM

Yesterday I didn't have my car as it was in the garage. I picked it up this morning and rode 48 miles and the check engine light came on again. Not happy. When I got back home I called them back and since I have to babysit and let the dogs out all next week who knows when I can bring it back. Then yesterday I couldn't get on Facebook. No Facebook what am I going to do. I couldn't get on it again today so I called up my computer fix it shop and he fixed it and some other things for a price of $99. And he did it over the phone in about 45 minutes. Now I'm just worrying about Ebola in my backyard. Well next town to me.

Quilty-Louise 10-16-2014 11:14 AM

My pincushion is in the mail today heading east of me.

lynnie 10-16-2014 11:46 AM

Pat, it's getting to scary now, I know. And it's in your backyard.
Planned obsolescence, germ warfare or whatever, it's too damn scary for me.
It's kind of out of our hands and a bit out of control also. I think you were
under alot of pressure yesterday with the car, so try to take a deep breath,
geese, do we want to do that anymore, and relax. so sorry you have this
so close to you and need to worry about it.

nhnative 10-16-2014 12:25 PM

It is scary and you know that someone is lying. But if you worked with an Ebola patient and he died and another nurse got it from him wouldn't you not go flying around. I just found out that my son was in NYC this past weekend with his band.

lynnie 10-16-2014 12:41 PM

I worry about my son, he's in the city 3-4 nights a week and doesn't worry about it.
Our friend DOTTY lives on the upper west side. I worry about her too. a good friend.

nhnative 10-16-2014 12:56 PM

There are a lot worse places than NY. My son has been to a lot of cities and some countries and he said the worst place is Gary, Indiana. First it was Chicago, and then Baltimore and now Gary.

lawsonmugs 10-16-2014 04:12 PM

Pat love that pin cush and the house box. That balloon would have scared the crap out of me when I opened the box. lol

lynnie 10-16-2014 04:33 PM

Mary, are you afraid of balloons, or allergic to latex, like me???
great packaging though. Love that house too, had to go take another look at it.
This is such a great swap!!!
Everyone here needs to pat themselves on the back for doing such a great job.

TOOMANYUFO'S 10-16-2014 05:04 PM

I'm going to send tomorrow. I would have sent the pin cushion a couple days ago, but haven't been home much. We have to travel a long distance when we need things at walmart or home depot. I had to take DD car for a recall, that was 3 hours just the traveling, then had to go with DH on a business trip, that ended up wasting most of the day and today I had to go to the doctors. When I get home from a long trip I am physically done for the day. A lot of nice pkgs. coming. I hope my partners will like theirs. Well good night everyone.

TheStylishHome 10-16-2014 08:20 PM

Great news! My packages are headed west tomorrow! I braved the floods (really, I waited till after nap when it let up), saved a GIANT snapping turtle that was in the road (will upload picture when I figure out how to do that since last time I tried to upload pics I almost tossed my computer out the window), and survived the stores with 2 little munchkins and only 1 major disaster (any idiot who puts CD's in an "intersection" in a wobbly cardboard holder deserves to have them "dusted" off....er knocked all over the place, by a ditzy 3 year old who isn't looking where she's going LOL). However, mission accomplished. Packages are ready to go in the mail! I will say.... I added some fun filler, but it smells funky! Hopefully it was just the plastic bag it was in....but if it smells funky when you open it..... ditch the filler.

I had fun gathering the stuff and have a jump start on next month :)

One question... can we add a line for allergies on the questionairre? I wanted to grab recees in the worst way, but also know that peanuts are a huge allergin, and I just saw that Linnie is allergic to latex..... Oh, wait...maybe there is a line on there....I think I remember seeing one, but I'm not allergic to anything, so it doesn't always register with me.

OK, Klaws, I'll send tracking numbers when I have them in hand :)
Karyn

Just LOOK at my terrific swap from Jan Rutherford. She always makes such nice home made items. Isn't the little hanging cute? I think the sewing machine needlebook is my favorite. Also she made a nice tissue holder and a little coin bag. The pretty fabric everything is sitting on is a fat quarter she also sent. Jan does such nice hand stitching. I know she put a lot of time and work into this swap and I love it all and appreciate her hard work. Thanks so much Jan. Hugs Mary:o

klaws 10-17-2014 08:24 AM

I just got a PM from Rosemary. She said that she was in the hospital the past couple days. That's why we haven't heard from her. They think it might be her heart but she has to wait until she sees her heart doctor next week. She said that she will post later. Let's all send her good wishes.

nhnative 10-17-2014 10:30 AM

Hi Rosemary I hope that you are feeling better today, and hope you get good news next week. Sending prayers

RedGarnet222 10-17-2014 10:31 AM

Mary you did get a good swap package from Jan. The hand stitiching is great and I love the fall fabrics, and such a cute needlecase. I hope your sister is doing OK.
OK not only do we have the Ebola scare here, but I just saw that an inmate in an Ohio prison has leprosy. I'm staying in the house. Not really, tomorrow I'm going to Tallmadge for a craft fair.

lynnie 10-17-2014 01:48 PM

Pat, scares all over your town. Pat, I also heard leprosy is difficult to catch.
Mary, sending prayers to your sister. I think it' terrible that you have to wait that long to see what's up
with your own health. they know, why can't they tell you. Money I guess.
Mary, you also got a great swap pkg. such nice hand made items. I love hand made!

My mom said she did want 'any of my handmade stuff' for her birthday.

TOOMANYUFO'S 10-17-2014 02:53 PM

Rosemary I hope you will be home soon. I will pray for you. Guess I will have to make a prayer list so I don't forget anyone. My memory isn't as good as it use to be.

:thumbup:Cute spider and love the box. good idea using the spider print for the spider. Lynnie did you get the mystery train clue for today? It's going to give me a chance to catch up I hope. I made this wallet for myself the other day. It took about 2 hrs without a pattern. The color is really bright hot pink so I can find it in my purse easily. :cool:Kinda the color of the flap inside. :sew: The thin white line above the black heart fabric is my checkbook. The white triangle below the money is a zippered compartment for change. There are 6 slots for credit cards etc.Above my licence is a piece of pale pink ribbon it is attached to the zipper pull. Hope all this makes sense. Have a good weekend all. And Sis you better still be resting !!!:o

Mary I love that wallet you made. It's funny, because last night I was looking at pattern after pattern to get some ideas for a wallet. I have one now that was give to me, but it opens up in a way that when someone at a store ask to see my drivers license I can't find them for a long time. Same with my insurance card. So I want to make me one that has that special place for both. I love yours.

Everyone has still been making the neatest pincushions and needle books with nice goodies. Great job! All of you as always are so talented.:)

My dad is back home, but against doctor release. Life is interesting.

lynnie 10-18-2014 10:11 AM

Love that wallet. I still use the one your sis made me. it's in my purse all the time.
just love the bright colors.
i'm onto my next step on the mystery train.
This is a great quilt for those that think they can't quilt much. It has you so
things step by step and making blocks or sections you'd never attempt.
So if you want to try something new, go for it next time around. alot of fun.

nhnative 10-18-2014 11:05 AM

That spider pincushion from Mrs.Shak is so cute. Great job on the wallet Mary. Rosemary I hope you are feeling better.
It was raining on and off today and the high was 47. I did go to 2 craft fairs and now I have so many ideas that my head is going to explode. Also was on Pinterest. That site is so addicting. Too bad I never have time to make things. I did see someone had made a snap bag and she said she only uses expensive metal rulers as the cheaper ones break. Has anyone had a problem with them.

lynnie 10-18-2014 12:14 PM

never had a problem, always use the dollar store ones.
It's about 71 here today, a bit overcast, but nice have some windows open.
tonight on is to be colder and more seasonal.
Mary, tell your sister we're praying for her speedy recovery.

Ladybug 1938 10-18-2014 03:47 PM

Sis love your wallet,,,,,, I like the color aqua in case you are inspired again... Lynnie feeling better and sleeping great, but sure get tired fast... Groceries this AM and then lunch and pretty good nap, few calls and dinner and now am zapped, ready for bed....

lawsonmugs 10-18-2014 04:03 PM

Susan I had made a wallet from a pattern and the check book sat in it upside down from the way I have it now,so when I opened my wallet I had to grab the bottom so my checkbook wouldn't fall out. I used that wallet the last 3 yrs and I am tired of it. So I designed what I wanted from expierence of the last one. Sis hope you are resting.Don't make me come all the way to Florida. Are you going to join us next month Susan? Good night everyone.

TOOMANYUFO'S 10-18-2014 05:12 PM

Keep an eye on your mailbox,I'm sure I sent everyone a wallet. lol.

lynnie 10-19-2014 10:59 AM

I'll be waiting for mine LOL :)
I think i'm dropping out till Januaryou read.
My dh company i cutting everyone's salary by 20%
yes, you read that right. the only thing worse than that is
the stockbrokers are still getting their Million dollar bonuses.
Yes!!! that's right. they feel they can't loose their stockbrokers, but who gives
a &#!T about the rest of the company. Still hosting a dinner for everyone, just
kind of a burn to all the loyal employees. My dh has been there 29 years, and he gets a cut.
I guess it's better than being unemployed. So i'll wait and see what's happening at his job.
I'll need to cut all unecessaries, and swaps are not a neccesity.

lawsonmugs 10-19-2014 11:09 AM

Lynnie they are a necessity. Really I'm sorry. Large companys only see there profits and bonuses. They forget without the employees they make zero. Hope things turn around for your husband. Keep the faith. Hugs Mary

nhnative 10-19-2014 11:18 AM

Sorry to hear that Lynnie. My son got laid of from his good job and on Monday he starts 8 weeks of school for different things. They approved his grant for $20,000. Now I have to babysit. The economy really stinks out there.
I'm with you Mary, I think they are a necessity.
