I am just finishing up the quilting on the borders of vanogay's quilt. I might post a sneak peak so she knows it's almost finished. I too have enjoyed making a 'special' quilt for another quilter - this has been a really good swap to be a part of. Thanks jillaine.

Quiltermomma if this quilt speaks to you I'd glady trade with you too. All the quilts you mentioned had appeal to me except the black/red peter paul quilt. I am just thrilled to be back on track. I would love the quilt to go to some one that loves the quilt. I am very open to finnishing a little later too so you can have a break and I will have extra time to finnish the quilting if need be. Jillaine just let me know what you want me to do. It also sounds like some one else might need another partner, Jacquie.

Here is just a sneak peak of vanogay's quilt showing the hand quilting I am doing.

wow....hand quilted stipling! Yikes. At least you don't have to mark it first.

Lynnie that quilting and quilt look wonderful! Great job.
Hand quilted quilts have a special soft drapey feel. I am sure your swap partner will appreciate.

Would it be possible to post all the pictures at the end. I love this thread. Love the pictures. How nice of you to make quilts to exchange. I could not participate as I have never finished a quilt for myself.

Jacquie,

I heard from your partner on 29 April at which point she told me she was about to sandwich and quilt. So don't give up on her just yet. There are a number of people who signed up for the swap, but who have not been as active on the board since the switch to the new system or because they've got issues going on at home, but who have communicated to me that they're still working on their partner's quilt. That said, if anyone else feels like their partner is MIA, let me know.

p.s. I heard from Gwyn/Mamasani: Sunbonnet Sue arrived safe and sound, she loves it and the quilt now has a place of prominence on her living room rocking chair. I'm hoping to receive a photo of it and Gwyn.

my partner has been MIA as well. I did PM her about my concerns, as I am having foot surgery and with all the pain of trying to sit and sew, I am afraid her quilt is not getting far either! I have however convinced my DH that he can help IF my partner still wants to play.

I love the depth of it. If ok with Jillian's I am up for it. Your quilt will be done on time. It fits in with my agenda just fine. Whigrose and Tammoos will bedone this week. Including binding have to make labels yet.

Oooh, Lynnie25, that's looking pretty wonderful. I know just the place for it. As a matter of fact, I just took another quilt down from the hanging rack I'm thinking of and I will FOR SURE reserve that place for my new one. I'm going to put yours into the mail on Tuesday some time, so will be posting a picture for the world - however, if you choose to ignore that post, it'll be okay!!! Do let me know when it arrives. I think the last time we posted something it took about 10 days. Speaking of those quilt tops, they are sandwiched and ready to quilt, but with my surgery, I haven't been able to stand and get that done. I do need to work on them though - with pictures of them, as well to follow. To everyone on the board, have a wonderful Memorial Day and to other veterans out there - thanks.

I am beside myself with giddiness for being almost done-done on QuilterMomma's quilt. She and I were just discussing bindings, labels and hanging sleeves. I have two of three under control and the label will be last.

When dh picked the quilt up from the LA, I was mulling over 'What did you learn from this experience deb?" I realized several things and it got me to wondering if maybe we should have a 'lessons learned and how we grew from this swap' exchange. Anyone interested?

best,
d (who is going back to finish the hanging sleeve now so she can get the rest of the binding attached)
