My blocks will be going in the mail today!

Received blocks from J. Bowers - I need your Board name please, so I can log them in.

I have not received them as of last night....

I hate to be a pest but have the r/w/b blocks arrived from the previous coordinator? I know the projected mailing back date is the end of this month but it would be nice to know our blocks are in your hands.

Claudia, if you mailed the blocks to NorBana, she hasn't sent them to me yet. She is waiting for any stragglers that may have sent them to her instead of me. When I get them, I will log them in.

vbourck 05-14-2010 06:50 AM

I am late in joining this group, but have already made a couple blocks, "Glory in Scraps" from quilters cache. Please add me to the large list that is particpating. Thanks

This is number 5 of 12 blocks. It is called "Shooting Star 2", this is my first swap, and every block that I have viewed for this exchange is great.

Deb,

I would like to sign up and just sent you a pm as I had a question. I am questioning my ability, as I know there are a lot of great quilters on here, and I just am not sure my skill level is good enough.

Thanks

fun2quilt 05-16-2010 05:20 AM

These blocks are awesome! They are going to make some unbelievably gorgeous quilts. Can't wait to see which ones I get, I want one of each LOL

nena 05-16-2010 07:06 AM

My block looks so plain after seeing all these beautiful blocks. I am rather new and I am afraid to try something hard, But next time I am going to take a walk on the wild side. If it's not the best I'll just have to keep trying. Look out everyone Im breaking outside the box!! LOL

We all started with a ruler and a cutter and fabric. Just keep at it and you will be surprised at what you can do. If you need help or encouragement, you are in the right place!!

yolanda 05-16-2010 06:43 PM

You should see my block - It's a simple pinwheel and I had such a hard time with it for some reason... I posted it because I thought it was boring but others really liked it!!

IMO, having only complicated blocks can make a quilt too busy looking. I think a good balance includes everything from simple to complicated and in between. I'd be happy to have a block from either one of you and am glad you have joined us here.

:-D

BrendaB 05-17-2010 01:32 AM

Just wait until you see what you can do and all that you learn. This is a wonderful, safe place to learn, so take the leap. You will be glad you did, and welcome. :-)

nena 05-17-2010 05:37 AM

Thanks for all the encouragement. I'm going to be like "Thomas"... I think I can ... I think I can .
I love this board. Quilters are the best people in the world!

pastrygrl 05-18-2010 09:44 AM

Mine went in the mail today! :) Deb if you could let me know when they get there that would be awsome. thanks!

Nancy in Louisiana 05-18-2010 05:31 PM

Thanx for stepping in for Norbana, Deb. Let me know if you run short of postage and I'll be happy to contribute. Norbana I hope all is well with you. I can only imagine the work that goes into these swaps -- the sorting, labeling, mixing, sending, logging in -- I'm lucky if I can find my scissors and thread half the time much less be responsible for hundreds of blocks. Y'all are my heroes.

Apparently you haven't seen MY room!!!!..CLEAN IT UP AND THE NEXT PROJECT THAT COMES TO MING BRINGS TWO MORE..anyway, I have large plastic tubs that I am putting the packages in as they come in, with the names and # of block on each package. When all are in, I will start sorting.

Nettie 05-19-2010 06:30 AM

Wow, looking at all the blocks. Boy the quilters on here are awesome!

Did my blocks make it?

Nettie

missgigglewings 05-19-2010 01:30 PM

Ok Deb, mailed mine out today! Wish I had time to do another set, but life gets in the way sometimes! Thanks for hosting!

LHUNT212 05-19-2010 03:27 PM

I just sent out my blocks today, but I sent them to Norbana's address because that was the last PM I received. Is this not where they were supposed to go?
