Whoo hoo - group participants have been assigned.
We are "International" because we have a member from Brazil. I sent out an email to verify that there are no email-addy issues and I hope that we can come up with a fun group name. This will definitely be a "no pressure zone" because we are all busy with life and this IRR is supposed to be a relaxing distraction. So my center is in the works but far from finished. Looking forward to seeing pics of all the pretties that will find their way through the rounds and to all the comments along the way. The song Rockin Robin comes to mind........ Members in this group are (in order): ligia Kathy N MadQuilter pam1966 quiltwoman Craftymainemom |
What kind of group is this?

I used google translate and the portugese translation for borders is "frontieras" We are each making a border and the quilts will go to Brazil for at least one round (portugese is the language in Brazil I believe)
We could be the "Quilting new Frontiers" Group. What do you all think? |

I'm thinking tentatively that we may be the "New Frontier Quilters" - still waiting to hear back from a few team mates.

Loving the centers, but how different they are. One is happy and bright, the other happy and dainty. Best of all,, I have fabric to go with both. (Wiping brow!)
My center is making progress too. Not picture-worthy yet. I added the name "New Frontier Quilters" in the title to try it on for size. |
Quiltwoman, what a beautiful block !!

Those who have International addresses, PM your reciever and ask if it's ok to mail ANY rounds that are done early. We know it can take a bit longer to get from overseas to US.
Those who are US, ONLY mail this round early. The rest of the rounds PLEASE mail on the mail dates. If you will be traveling during a mail date, PM your reciever and ask if it is ok to send early. We don't want tops to be piled up on people with everyone mailing early. |

Love your center... what should I add ? :? Small envelopes take 7-10 days, flat rate envelopes usually 2-3 weeks. Knowing this, we can make it work well. |

Yea!!

If anyone wants a teaser of what my center will look like when it grows up, you can go to the Madquilter PDA and see page 139. I have a loooooong way to go, but as I am working out the process, it's starting to go faster.

Anxious to see it finished, Martina !

Ok I finally decided what to do for my center. My husband said to me...where are you going to use another quilt which made me sit back and think about where I could actually "use" one....my sewing studio! I have a lazy boy chair in there that I sit in while my embroidery machine is running but I don't have a quilt. So I made my center to match my studio and represent me. Off the wall...yes...but it should be really beautiful when done and I will actually have a quilt for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
|
....and I already KNOW what I will do with it, Kathy! Skipping with anticipation - singing with joy!
|
Kathy,
That's such a great idea! I love the fabric too. This is going to be so much fun. Now I have to run and check who gets it first. |
Uncle! Uncle! I am crying uncle on my "rustic leaf" center. It was getting a little too rustic and I just can't do sloppy work. So I am on the hunt for an alternate plan. Glad I have not posted any pics here - (wiping brow with relief). Looks like I am resurrecting a UFO with a folded Origami block - at least that's what I'm thinking today.

very cool idea Kathy and very pretty embroidery :)

when I saw the pic I thought I´d fill the leaves in crayola ... I think I´m going to send mine off in a few days, the simplest center in a RR ever  |
Just dropping in from Group 7 to check things out here. Ligia, you center may be the simplest ever, but it is sure gorgeous. Wonderful colors for your group to work with. Can't wait to see how all the quilts progress in all the groups.

What great colors, ligia. Hm - thinking, thinking......
I actually pulled the UFO blocks out and put them together this afternoon. Must admit, I like it now, particularly because I get 5 more set of eyes and 5 more sets of creative ideas to make it complete. Pam, do you want me to put an outer border in the red, or do you want me to leave as is? I still have some of the red - I could send it to you if you want. Just let me know. I'm so sorry it took me so long to see this!!! aargh
