Paula,

I love it to and will be such a great memory for them both. I am not so sure I would of wanted to sign it either

Dragonfly Nana 01-31-2013 04:14 AM

Thank you ladies - I really had fun with this one. The bottom tier is 6" x 18" so I made three 1/4 square triangles in each color set and then sewed the opposites sets together to make each of the three squares. I just rotated the center square for fun. I then appliqued the yellow circles.
The skyline is applique. I found a silhouette via a google search and traced it. The third tier (circles) is just really coo fabric that set the entire color scheme.

TheMamaHauser 01-31-2013 09:03 AM

Paula, I am sending out Evelyn's row today. Tracking code 9405 9036 9930 0080 6017 67

Dragonfly Nana 01-31-2013 05:18 PM

Woo hoo - Thanks Kelly. Easier to work when you have inspiration right on the wall.
I will let you know when it arrives.

QuilterMomma 02-21-2013 11:12 AM

How we doing here? Just checking to see any new progress on the rows for inspiration and boo hoo, no new ones.

TheMamaHauser 02-21-2013 02:50 PM

QM, we had some members drop out and some members drop in and so we're still getting caught up :)

QuilterMomma 02-21-2013 03:01 PM

That sounds interesting. Some new eye candy?

ebellot 02-27-2013 12:28 PM

Dragonfly Nana 02-27-2013 06:24 PM

Evelyn, sorry to hear about your husband's aunt. Prayers for your family as you deal with the loss.

Nexxus831 02-27-2013 07:46 PM

Evelyn, I am sorry to hear about your loss. I will put out Paula's blocks to you by the weekend. Things have been a little rough going. Took me over a week to do one block because of my stupid need to use directional fabric. Ughhhh

Evelyn, take all the time you need! There's no rush on anything; none of us is going to lose our minds if things take a little longer. In terms of priorities, we should be well below any and all things family-related.

ebellot 02-28-2013 08:05 AM

Thanks everyone for the prayers and understanding. On the 9 of Feb my cousin and his wife died in a car accident after that Glenns aunt died. They say bad things come in threes I sure hope this is not true. Pleas pray for us to have a safe trip. Evelyn

TheMamaHauser 03-01-2013 02:04 PM

Ok! I got Melinda's row in. I haven't looked at it yet to be sure, but remind me: we're not putting the blocks together, right? I'm going to make 6 and leave them unattached?

Dragonfly Nana 03-01-2013 02:47 PM

Yes Kelly you are correct - we are NOT putting them together for Melinda

Nexxus831 03-01-2013 10:39 PM

Yeah don't sew them together i will do that later

Dragonfly Nana 03-04-2013 03:18 PM

Melinda - I shipped Evelyn's rows to you today- you should have them by Wednesday. USPS Track number 9505-8000-0107-3063-002-92
So sorry these are late leaving. They have been done for weeks and safely put up in my sewing room - then this dummy forgot to ship them out by the 1st.

Nexxus831 03-04-2013 07:24 PM

Paula,

You are way ahead LOL I still have Kelly's to do. I just finished yours and they will be out in the mail to Evelyn tomorrow. I have a picture do you want to see them or do you want it to be a surprise.

TheMamaHauser 03-04-2013 07:48 PM

I think we're safe to say we're on our own timeline now.

I have Melinda's blocks here but haven't even gotten a chance to start. It's spring break and I'm trying to finish as many clinical hours as possible - if I can get 5 days in, I will only have 3 days left to do after this week.

I am ready for this schedule crunch to be over! DH is deploying in just over a month (and 2 weeks before finals) and so while the classes are easy, it feels like everything is just being so rushed and crammed to fit into the smallest possible timeframe.

Dragonfly Nana 03-04-2013 08:09 PM

Me, way ahead - LOL - with all the projects I have over the next few months I kind of feel like Kelly - trying to cram as much as I can in the time I have - though I can't imagine trying to gt ready for my hubby to deploy.

Hang in there Kelly and enjoy the time between now and deployment when you can.

If you want to post pics go for it. I know we all like eye candy. I forgot to take pics before I shipped Evelyn's to you.

TheMamaHauser 03-05-2013 05:42 PM

Ok, I'll get it opened and take pictures here in the next day or two. I decided to take Friday off and get my hair done. I think that 4-7.5 hour days is enough for one week.

Dragonfly Nana 03-05-2013 06:34 PM

Kelly - I ship to Melinda so she has Evelyn's blocks that I forgot to take pictures of before I shipped.

You have Melinda's blocks - but post more pics anytime.

Paula,
This is the row I made. After I had shipped and was cropping this picture I discovered a boo boo. I am sorry. I hope you like them. When you get them and you don't like them let me know and I can remake you some.

Dragonfly Nana 03-06-2013 04:59 AM

Very pretty - I really like them and I don't see any mistakes

ebellot 03-12-2013 06:11 PM

Hi ever one I received the rows you sent Melinda. Now I have to clean my sewing room. Have a good night everyone.

QuilterMomma 03-13-2013 08:00 AM

You clean the sewing room? Is that what I am doing wrong?

ebellot 03-13-2013 01:13 PM

We had wooden floors put in and some of the planks was comming up well they repared it Tuesday with out telling me so they just tossed everything around and I cannot find anything ( couldnt find anything befor ) Have to put sewing machine back and......... so I have to clean up there mess.

QuilterMomma 03-14-2013 01:42 PM

That sounds frustrating.

Dragonfly Nana 03-14-2013 02:56 PM

a little warning would have been nice before they messed up (LOL) your sewing room.

Judith1005 04-02-2013 05:28 AM

Hello ladies. Just peaking in to see all the pretty rows. (Wish I'd known you needed an extra. I would have joined in. ) Looks like you devised a good plan anyway. That's the spirit. Can't wait to see more.

Dragonfly Nana 04-18-2013 02:07 PM

Hello ladies. Just checking in to see how everyone is doing since we have been so quiet lately. I am looking forward to receiving Melinda's blocks from Kelley soon.

TheMamaHauser 04-18-2013 03:01 PM

I am hoping to have them finished by the end of next week. End-of-semester things are creeping up on me a little faster than I'd realized. :)

Dragonfly Nana 04-18-2013 04:00 PM

No worries Kelly - I can remember the pressure of semester's end - and quilting is supposed to be fun.

TheMamaHauser 04-18-2013 06:37 PM

Actually, I did some lazy pressing when I made the strip sets so when I sewed the first 6 blocks together, they were wayyyy too small and I've been procrastinating. I got all the blocks together tonight and am finishing up on the frames so hopefully by Saturday they'll be finished. We've had some really weird weather the last few weeks and it's given me a case of the don't-wanna's can't-make-me's. I needed a reason to snap out of it!

Dragonfly Nana 04-19-2013 04:03 AM

LOL - lazy pressing - love that expression and I have done it many times myself.
I am stuck on a baby quilt that just needs the binding but of course I ran out of the fabric I want to use for it and have to wait until payday to get more.
My round for my Round Robin is giving me a math headache. I know what I want to do but need figure the right sizes so it will fit. I hate it when I have to use 5/8" or 9/16" instead of 1/4"
I do have a lot of the center squares cut for Evelyn's blocks so I may get started on the centers since they will be scrappy then add the white edges and borders later.

TheMamaHauser 04-20-2013 06:58 PM

I have everything packaged up and ready to go. I was going to print postage at home until I realized I didn't use a flat-rate envelope - so I will mail it out on Monday.

Melinda, I put my leftover strip-set scraps in there along with my first set of (unfinished) blocks that weren't quite the right size. I redid them but thought maybe if you do some monkeying, you might be able to use the first try blocks, too.

I meant to put the tag from my jelly roll in there - it was "Bliss" from Moda (I can't remember the designer) but now I'm not sure I did.

I also put a jelly roll in (minus 5 strips) of the Kona so Paula, you won't have to cut any of the white strips ;)

Dragonfly Nana 04-21-2013 07:24 AM

Thanks Kelly - precuts are always good - and nice of you to share the smaller blocks you made.
Melinda might be able to use your smaller blocks as cornerstones in the border.
Or on the back - that would be very pretty and help tie the two sides together.

ebellot 04-30-2013 03:09 PM

Hi everyone, hope all is good . I have a question for Paula. Do you want our rows sew to your row? I have my five blocks sewed together. As soon as I hear I will mail

Dragonfly Nana 04-30-2013 06:09 PM

Hi Evelyn. Please do not sew them together. I plan to put sashing between each person's row, but have to wait for them to come home to make that fabric choice. Thanks for asking.

ebellot 05-01-2013 07:38 AM

I wasnt sure. I am going to get every thing togeather and will mail today

QuilterMomma 05-01-2013 09:12 AM
