I figured it out, I was taking to small of a seam I moved my needle over and they are matching up pretty close now! I've had to take two of the blocks apart and sewed them over....and I had cut them 2"X2" square I know I got that part right.

No they're both the smaller size. Unsure why it would be larger. Are you using a 2 inch square or a 2.50 inch? It should be 2 inch.

Sauki1 03-20-2013 02:09 AM

Ahhh great! Glad you figuredi t out. I thought it might be the square size as most patterns use a 2.5 inch instead of a 2.

cuppy 03-20-2013 04:45 AM

Are those flip flops my size? Hope so.! I like them. I like applique and patchwork blocks. I like the mixture together. Thank you. ;-)

cuppy 03-20-2013 04:47 AM

Sauki1 Should I be going through scraps and making 2 inch squares? I might need them soon, it seems.

Lv2sew2011 03-20-2013 11:04 AM

Yes Cuppy they are 2" squares...

Wow, the kats are looking good. I'm super excited to see it coming together. My friend and I cut over 80 2" squares last week and put them aside for when the Irish Chain comes to visit. What's happening on the gray background fabric? I thought I read somewhere that there wasn't enough of it. I've seen nothing about it since. DOesn't look like you'd want another color introduced into that mix...

Lv2sew2011 03-25-2013 02:06 PM

I found some that was pretty close to the fabric needed. So I used it their is a slight difference but if you look at the picture you can't tell!

Actually, Girlscouts had indicated that I hadn't sent her enough. So, I forwarded her another delivery of it. I have plenty of the fabric. Please, don't add any other as I want the dye lots to be the same. I will be sending the next one off to Cuppy in the next day or so, so she will have enough. Please don't hesitate to send me a PM if for some reason I didn't include enough. Thanks all, I can't wait to see it when it's done. :)

Sauki1 I will be looking out for the gray fabric to be used on the irish chain. I am working on 2 inch squares. I have not received your row yet from Lv2sew2011. I am sure I will receive it the first week of April. Are these squares just scrappy? Let me know the size of the block, or basically the pattern, so I can get started as soon as I receive your gray.

cuppy 03-26-2013 05:31 AM

Vanogay, I will be mailing the row for you to work on sometime next week. Gather your blues and white types of fabrics, and think of Star blocks. Everyone have a wonderful Easter!

cuppy 03-26-2013 05:33 AM

Lv2sew2011, I will be receiving the irish chain from you, probably in a week or so. Let me know when it is mailed, I will be on the lookout. Have a wonderful Easter.

Vanogay 03-26-2013 11:19 AM

I'm not going to worry about the row robin for awhile. Have a quilt of Valor quilt started cutting and will work on it for the next day or so. Then I cut out a quilt for me -what a novel idea - one for me! Anyway, it's cut and I'll be working on it as well. Have a blessed Easter everyone.

Yep just scrappy. I thought it would look nice that way :) All the instructions will arrive with the fabric, so you should be all set :) The squares are all 2 inches.

Sauki1 03-26-2013 12:23 PM

Happy Easter to everyone. Enjoy the holiday and finding those easter eggs! Hey, maybe someone will plan a fabric hunt for us!

cuppy 04-05-2013 09:40 AM

I received from Lv2sew2011 the row robin. Looks great. Ok , next I will need the gray background fabric. I will wait for you to send it too me. I will be cutting squares until then. I have plenty of other things to do , so send when you can.

Sauki1 04-05-2013 01:42 PM

Ack, my bad. I'll send them soon.

Sorry,

Angie

Glad to hear you got it, I have another row for you but I thought I would hang on it for a bit! Since it will be the last row of cats. Were only doing 5 rows is that right?

Cuppy, just checking to see if you received my envelope of fabric and instructions. Haven't heard much here, how is everyone doing?

I haven't had a chance to work on my row but I'm hoping to have a chance over the next month. :)

Vanogay 04-30-2013 03:01 AM

Got thinking about this thread and realized I don't have my row. Not alot of chatter from us about our work. Cuppy, what's happening? Talk to me and let me know where you are and what I can expect. I really would not want to have 2 at once if I can avoid. I know I'm missing the Irish Chain, what's the other?

girlscouts1 04-30-2013 07:46 AM

so does that mean my row of Blue and White Stars is missing somewhere? Please post andadvise.... thanks

Sauki1 04-30-2013 06:41 PM

I believe, if I'm not mistaken, your row should be with Vanogay now. I have Lv2sew2011's right now and will work on that soon.

Vanogay can you help us with this question?

Thanks,

Angie

Just worried because Vanogay says she does not have a row right now..... :(

Sauki1 05-01-2013 02:16 AM

I think she actually has one because she said she didn't want to have two at once. But I could be way off. I'm sure she'll clear it up once she's back on the board :)

QuilterMomma 05-01-2013 09:16 AM

Are we having fun yet?:D

Sauki1 05-02-2013 02:20 AM

Always!

Vanogay 05-02-2013 04:06 AM

Ladies - I DO NOT have any row. That's why I was ringing Cuppy's bell - asking if she would mail. Yoo-hoo, Cuppy are you there???

Sauki1 05-02-2013 05:15 PM

Thanks for clearing that up. I'll try to PM her and see if I can get her. Maybe on vaca?

Lv2sew2011 05-05-2013 10:24 AM

I just mailed another row to cuppy, if I remember right it was the cats. And at this time I have no rows either just for the record..

Donna
PS. Just for the record I insured both rows for $100.00 on each. Package! I also seen that Cuppy's last post on the borad was 4/24/2013...

Lv2sew2011 05-05-2013 10:55 AM

The only row that I know I haven't worked on is the Beach/Ocean theme. Can someone tell how big are the blocks for that so I could get started on them? Thanks
Donna

Vanogay 05-05-2013 12:06 PM

Lv2, the ocean theme was a horizontal row. I did mine in threes - one part was total sea, one sea/sand and one sand with just a bit of sea. The rest of them, I don't know how they turned out.
As far as I know, I am missing - have not seen - the irish chain and one other(stars?). I sewed on the ocean/beach, primitive angels and or course, my cats.

Sauki1 05-05-2013 04:57 PM

I have sewn on the cats, the beach scene (which I did as one long piece with appliqued flip flops) and I now have the primitive angels and I started my Irish chain. So, I guess the only one I haven't seen is the star one.

Lv2 can you check the tracking numbers to see if they have been delivered?

I have had no response to my PMs. Anyone have her number? I'll check to see if it is in the email Qbee sent to me.

Thanks,

Angie

Sauki1 05-07-2013 05:46 AM

Good news, I received a PM from Cuppy. She said she got a bit behind but has mailed her row to Vanogay and did receive the fabric I sent her. So, we seem to be back on track and hopefully within a couple days everyone will have a row to work on.

Our next deadline is June 1st. It will be upon us faster than we know. :) I will be out of town the weekends of the 18th and 25th so I have to get to working on my row quick!

Hope all is well with all of you. Holler if you need anything.

Angie

Lv2sew2011 05-07-2013 08:54 AM

Can someone tell me how big are the blocks of the ocean/beach rows. Are they 12 1/2 X 12 1/2 ????

Vanogay 05-07-2013 01:10 PM

The row measures 12 1/2, bit it sounds like no one has actually made 'blocks', but rather just a long strip....
