I lost IT! I had it but I must have put it down somewhere like I do with my glasses or keys and then spend hours looking for them. I looked everywhere for it. I looked at the community parade, the hanging of the greens at church, the community sing a long, the tree trimming with the senior citizens at work, the mall, the mall santa with children and their wish lists, I bought a warm snickerdoodle and ate it, and even drank a mimosa and still couldn't find it. Somehow I have lost my Christmas! HELP!

Okay, remain calm...take some deep breaths and listen to some Christmas songs. Then start decorating your house and don't forget to include the smell of fresh pine trees. Hopefully that will help!

Here's what my mail lady told me about priority versus parcel post. The parcel post packages get set aside while the trucks are being loaded for shipment. Then if there is room on the truck, the parcel post boxes get loaded. She says it can take as much as 2 weeks for delivery if a parcel post package is being delivered in a different region. The regions are East, Central, and West. So if you are in the West and your package is coming from the East or Central, you can be waiting 2 weeks for it. So be patient. My package took over a week to arrive here in PA (woops, North Pole) from Las Vegas. Pour yourself a glass of egg nog and get comfy.

i have an idea... since we have 10 more days to wait, how about if 1/10th of us open our boxes today. and 1/10 of us open our boxes tomorrow, and so on and so forth. i'll start and show everyone how it's done.
1. put the box in front of you.
2. start tugging on the nearest tape and pp-p-u-u-u-ll-ll-ll.
3. if you hit a cross tape, bite the cross tape till it tears, and continue as in step 2.
4. tear any brown paper, or outside wrapping paper and throw over your left shoulder. ( right shoulder if left handed)
5. open the box top, one flap at a time. if you have a box with no flaps, you can use your non-fabric scissors to carefully cut flaps. or you can turn the box over and over until you find flaps.
6. look carefully to determine if items are wrapped in bright colored papers, or not.
5 1/2. clear the box of any edibles as you may need strength and nutrients to deal with opening the individual parcels. no good fainting into the box from hunger.
7. carefully remove fabric quarters and hang them about your person with gay abandon. this adds to the festive atmosphere and tone of the occasion. i always bring hair pins for this part and re-use any sticky tape to adhere to my chin (no unkind remarks about hairy chins and hair pins, thank you. (nose in the air)). a word to the wise, hanging a fat 1/4 from your forehead makes it more difficult to eat any goodies, and hard to see what's in the package. personally, i hate getting chocolate on my quilt fabric.
8. continue as you will from here. i am busy eating my chocolate! is it illegal to send liquor in the mail?

OMG!! I am laughing so hard that tears are streaming down my face! I can see this so vividly! Somehow there are streamers and confetti in the picture I imagine.

Being that this is my first SS with the group I am getting so excited I can't stand it. :p nanci. you are a hoot. Do any of us have skype? I do. that would make it so much fun to see everyone's face when we open our packages. :D

You need a heartwarming Christmas movie as well. What about "It's A Wonderful Life" or one of the movies of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol," there must be 10 movies based on that story and it always end sappy and I end up crying.

I hope you find your Christmas soon.
