Me too. Start an idea, end with a gift.

Woooow!!!! I can't believe all of the beautiful gifts and incredible talent here! I would be happy with ANY of these treasures!

roseirish48 10-25-2014 02:15 PM

mail man has been bringing packages all week. unfortunately they are all addressed to the kid as her birthday is tomorrow. still waiting on my ss box to arrive so i can enjoy shaking, rattling and rolling it between my grubby litle paws trying to guess at what is inside. oh, well, guess cabana boy will need to refill my drink

juneayerza 10-25-2014 02:53 PM

All the handmade gifts are so cute! Unfortunately, my handmade will not get done. I haven’t been here in several days because I’ve pretty much been asleep most of the time from all the drugs they have been giving me. I want to thank everyone for their well wishes regarding my eye and wish the best to others who are having their own problems right now.

It is still way too early to know what is going to happen with the eye. I’m seeing the doctor everyday and his main recommendation right now is to stay as quiet as I can and give the swelling time to go down. The good news is now I can see light and some movement.

I will check back here as often as I can. My SS package is complete and a friend is going to come over this week and help me pack it up and get it in the mail.

I feel so lucky to be part of this board!

{{{{{{{{ June }}}}}}} I'm sure your Secret Santee will be more than happy, with whatever is in her gift box. You just take care of yourself and rest. If you're able to stumble down to the Hole, we'll find you a nice lounge chair in the corner, where it's peaceful and quiet. Since you're taking pain meds, we can fix you a nice pot of hot tea or cocoa. Feel better!

CookyIN 10-25-2014 03:31 PM

June, sometimes staying still and quiet is the hardest thing to do, isn't it? Just picture yourself down in the hole amongst your quilty friends, taking it easy like the doctor ordered. Neesie's right -- there's no pressure to include a handmade gift in your SS package, so don't fret.

nattoddboyd 10-25-2014 04:36 PM

Your sneak peeks all look awesome. I have been busy shopping and putting together some lovely gifts for my person and making a few things also. Hoping in post next week as im posting from Australia

I'm not the hostess, but as far as I'm aware, the sign-ups closed on 29th September and all the names have been given out. This is a link to the sign-ups.

It has been quiet and everyone has been so good. I think it is because Dreamer hasn't been starting any trouoble.

Also quiet a bit fewer sign ups this year. I am sure after all the packages are mailed it will get more as the packages will be talking to their recipients and driving them crazy.

Is that a mini charm pack? Must be for me, I am collecting those right now for a postage stamp quilt. My Pfaff had a nervous break down and is in the machine repair hospital. I am relearning my Bernina 1530 and remembering how much I love it.

What is the deadline to send out our boxes? My handmade gift might not be ready if it's soon! But could always send that as an afterthought!

1. Mail deadline is November 14th. That is a HARD deadline. No mailing AFTER this time. Since you have almost 2 months, there should be NO excuse for mailing late, unless you are incapacitated or 6 feet under.

Just checking in .. finished another gift...tried the quilted box with french seams - it took a bit longer but i got the benefit of the 4 quilted triangles that were cut off - so was able to whip up a mug rug to go with it in a jiffy. Been stitching my little bum off - and cleaning a bit and laundry - while DH and DGD are off hunting. They should be home in about another hour. She got herself a nice buck and is very thrilled.
June...please take care and do what they say about resting !!!!
Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend.http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...d=496674&stc=1

Lovely! What a great job and re-purposing of the cut off corners. So nice!

Cattut 10-26-2014 12:39 PM

Thanks Nessie, should have this gift done in lots of time

CookyIN 10-26-2014 02:03 PM

Oh Penni, those are so pretty. And very clever use of the leftover triangles! Just have to add that your quilting is very nice too; so precise. Something to aim for...

ArizonaKAT 10-26-2014 02:20 PM

WHEW! I just got done with two days of posting:

The purple bag is definitely mine to help me with the limited about of purple and pink I own.

The sneak preview red white and blue would absolutely go with me house. So you can send it one.

I have the perfect place for the box and mug rug.

and last but not least . . . I wrap my gifts in fabric.

SS, I hope you like homemade scarfs. There's one in your box.

We are fine, lots of little branches blown around, but not near as bad as I feared or the weatherman threatened. If you google "Columbus Day Storm in Vancouver, WA" under images, you will understand why storms scare the willy-wonkies out of me! I was about four, and the storm blew our house off the foundation with us in it! Then, if you want more entertainment, Google "Tornado hits Vancouver, WA". My cousin and I were walking home from school, (which had closed due to the storm) though that storm! I was a nervous wreck the whole time I lived in "Tornado Alley" in Texas. I am a certified storm chicken!

I have bad news for my santee... I do not drive. DH has had oral surgery, can't drive on pain killers, (healing nicely, thank you) DD who is backup driver, chose this moment to catch the creeping crud, so is not driving right now. I have your package all done, ready to mail, and can't get it out to post office. Heh heh heh.....Nyah! Nyah! Nyah!:p

dharen7 10-26-2014 03:09 PM

I was so excited about having everything ready and my husband took me to the post office all but one item fit in my mailing box, got home and realized I forgot to wrap everything. The gentleman standing in line watching couldn't believe I got all of it in the box. Sorry to my SS meant to wrap.

NanaCindyLou 10-26-2014 03:10 PM

I think I finished shopping today for my SS giftee.....I think..........still have to wrap & stuff the box....May get it mailed this week....

Neesie 10-26-2014 03:37 PM

My Secret Santee's box is almost complete but I'm not gonna tell y'all, when it gets mailed. That'll be between just Terri and me! :D :D :D

One clue - I haven't mailed it yet. . . or have I? :D :D :D

MizMelly 10-26-2014 03:41 PM

I'm going to wait til the very last minute to mail. Why? On accounta my SS lives so very close that it won't take long to get there! And that's all the hints I'm going to give.

Off to dinner now. Chicken Enchiladas cooking away in the oven......

Wow! I haven't posted, to busy reading all the posts. Everything that is homemade is really nice. Purple, pink and green are my colors. I do love Moda Kansas 5roubles and 1930s as well. I've got a few items, but need to step up the pace. Nov 14 is not that far away. The weather report says we may have snow on Halloween. It's time to hibernate.

MizMelly 10-26-2014 05:14 PM

Snow?? On Halloween!!?? I wish. It's going to be 92 here on Friday. Sniff.
