I got my sewing machine back from the Pfaff hospital yesterday. I have three small items that have to be completed then I can wrap and pack and mail! While we were at the lqs I signed up for fmq using my sewing machine. I am so excited! It cost a bunch but I think it will be worth it. At least it will get me started in the right direction so I can do my own quilting, at least on the small things. |
I got a box!! I got my box....youhouuuuu....hmmmm so dang tempting.....better hide it fast...youhoooo!!!!!

Sorry I don't get onto the site as often as I wish. I do a lot of the reading, but a bit on the shy side so I don't reply to much. I am working on my gift box, but I can't find the date that it has to be shipped. Can you help me?

THE RULES.... 1. Mail deadline is November 14th. That is a HARD deadline. No mailing AFTER this time. Since you have almost 2 months, there should be NO excuse for mailing late, unless you are incapacitated or 6 feet under. 2. ALL packages MUST have a DELIVERY CONFIRMATION when sent. Last year there were too many packages that were sent late and a few that were not received. With a Delivery Confirmation, the package can be somewhat tracked when received. If the receiver HAS NOT received their package from you and you said you sent it, you will be required to PROVE your sending with a copy of the mail receipt showing such. The mail receipt will show that you paid for the Delivery Confirmation, along with the zip code that the package was shipped to. So, DO NOT toss the receipt or the Deliveryy Confirmation slip away UNTIL YOU HEAR THAT YOUR PERSON HAS RECEIVED THEIR PACKAGE! |

snow for hallowe'en..? been there done that. snow stated about 6pm on Hallowe'en night anddumped 36" by morning and another 6" during the next day, schools, businesses etc were closed--city buses couldnt get through the streets. took two weeks before things were cleared enough to get back on schedule for buses and for many of the businesses to reopen. I worked for county government at the time...i struggled to meet the bus and get to work only to find that the governor had closed the office. nice trudge getting back to bus stop and getting home. bus couldnt get up the hill to my stop so got off 2 blocks early and plowed through snow drifts up to my crotch to get home 6 blocks away. ht shower and cocoa and hibernated the rest of the day

no package on my doorstep yet. i've been making sure Poo-Chie and Buz arent outside when mailman is due so as not to scare him away. Course they bark at everyone and everything that goes by the house so I keep jumping up to see if its the mailman. guess they are just practicing for Friday night as they are my doorbells for when the little goblins come to visit.

Picked up some cool fabric in Charleston, SC today at Five/Eighth Seams shop. On the way to upstate NY in the morning, wonder how many stops we'll make at LQSs, been surfing web for locations on the route. Wanna send my SS something special to celebrate my first SS swap!

Marcialee, I can vouch for that. Penni and those other gals ALWAYS have something to say! They also keep trying to get all of those gorgeous gifts, which we all surely know are meant for ME!!! Just bring a snack and a chair with you, and come sit over here in our corner of the Hole. If you have any trouble finding us, just follow the trail of cookie and cake crumbs. By the way, would you happen to have a roll of paper towels with you? Someone seems to have left frosting fingerprints, on my chair.
I was just thinking I hadn't posted much in the last day or so; busily working on SS and the ornament swap. As for those frosting fingerprints, yep, I'm probably the guilty party. Went to the grocery yesterday and the bakery had sliced up free samples of their Halloween cake. One layer of orange "white" cake, one layer of devil's food with creamy orange frosting! So if those fingerprints are orange... Oh, and of course, I picked up a couple of goodies to tuck in my swap packages! |
What a lovely embroidery pouch, Peg! Peg was my swap pal in another swap and she does a really great job sewing gifts that match her pal's interests. She made me a yarn bag for knitting, and an adorable tea wallet. Her Santee will be lucky to get her as their 'Santa'....
|
Awwww...you are sweet, Sewbizgirl! I must say your recipient will be equally blessed. I know from experience also!!
|
Nope it's for me, I do so much hand embroidery that it just has to be mine, sorry ladies.

My Pfaff is broke again and our nephew is sleeping in the spare bedroom where the other machine is. Well, he is at work right now but I don't like to go into "his" room when he is staying here. Darn! We are taking the Pfaff back today to be fixed. I have a couple of things that I am knitting so I'll work on those..,no, not at the same time! Looks like I will do a search for the pattern. 1 |
