Quilting Board's First Scrap Club

Welcome mrsmck!
Annaquilts.....lots of free patterns on the web for interesting things like pouches, bags, pot holders. Pot holders are a good way to use orphan blocks and most of us use them, so that's a good bet.

In fact Anna, here is a tutorial on 9 patch blocks for pot holder, but you can use an orphan block as well or use your scraps to make a nine patch and follow along. I did these out of some drunkard path orphan blocks I had.

Thank you Beth and Rhonda for the ideas. The pot holder sounds good out of scraps and will keep me in theme with the board. I like the scrappy theme. Most of my orphan blocks are 12 in. that seems a little big. OK ladies off to look at the ideas. Thanks!
edit- Wow Rhonda! I did not realize you had that many tutes. Thanks!

Welcome mrsmck. Hope you have fun here. I also love the quilt pattern you posted Rhonda.
Annaquilts, the chickie is adorable! When I made mine, I used a fire red or gold fringelike crochet thread (can't remember the name) in a tiny bunch as the cock's comb and it's fun as well. Instead of making pin cushions, I stuffed them and put little hangers on them and turned them into ornaments for the grandkids in their favorite colors...scrappy of course...and it's a favorite ornament. I really love yours!
