I'm OK. Yes, I had a full back and neck x-rays and a CT scan for a bad bump on the head. I am very sore but OK. My car did not fair so well. Body shop says it could be about $10,000 in damages. The trunk is almost in the back seat. I love my 'chebby' so I hope they can fix it. If not, I will have to buy another car. This one is just over a year old. The poor kid who hit me felt so bad. He was out of his pickup right away and was knocking on my window asking if I was OK. He was so concerned. He is a nice kid and accidents happen. They will build more cars.

Love the addition you put on this center, frustratedquilter. It is perfect for this block.

Well GracefulAnn's quilt talked to me and since I finished one of my own projects I just hopped on to it. I decided to set it on point. I love star blocks set on point hopefully you do too. I used the fabric you sent for the setting corners I like it, I think it looks perfect! I auditioned some I had and did not do it for me visually and I did not want anything to plain as I do not do applique so I think this fit the bill just right. I finished it off with a thin black print border so the next person in line has a good starting point to add too.

frustratedquilter... I love it! I'm so tickled by how its progressing! Now, if I can just get my borders to look right, I'll post a picture of the poodle soon.

maryb119. I'm so glad you are okay. I'm sure you are very sore but at least you are still with us all! I can't imagine a car having $10,000 in damages being repairable. My car was totaled out for a minor fender bender ten years ago.

givio I used the following link to figure the size of squares need for the corner triangles. I cut 2 -18" triangles then cut those once corner to corner but it did not give the the 36 1/2" I needed so I had to add a thin black border to get it to that measurement. So if you did not want to add a thin border you would have to cut bigger and then that would make the center block look like it was floating. I hope you understand what I am trying to say, sometimes I confuse myself. LOL So if you cut maybe 2 -20" squares it would get you to the 36.5".

I agree the car should be totaled but the insurance company will make that call. It is a real mess and I am lucky to have walked away. With the car being so new and with the price and the value of the car just purchased a year ago....that is where the problem lies. I want enough out of it to pay off the loan and have a down payment a new one. Still have not heard from the insurance company yet. Insurance companies rule the world.

mim's block arrived today and it is full of all the colours that appeal to me. Beautiful! Guess who is sewing this weekend.

frustratedquilter, what you did with GracefulAnn's block is perfect. I couldn't reconcile that fabric with the block but I see it was too soon for me. That looks great.
