FQ Stash Queen -- Wow, you had a terrible year. I am so sorry for your losses. And your injuries. I hope that 2011 proves to be a great improvement over 2010.
Our mailing order is: Me to FQ Stash Queen
FQ Stash Queen to Qbee
Qbee to TF Quilter
TF Quilter to pamesue
Pamesue to me
Reminder of due dates: Row 1 -- Feb 15
Row 2 -- April 15
Row 3 -- June 15
Row 4 -- Aug 15
Row 5 -- Oct 15
---------------------------------------
TF Quilter -- Your row is beautiful!!!! Are you sure you are in the right group -- like maybe you belong with the advanced group???? Wow -- I don't know how I can add to that. Where did you get your pattern? Are you looking for applique for the rest of the rows? I assume you want to maintain a Victorian "feel" to the rest of the quilt. I can't imagine mixing anything that beautiful with mod images are cartoon types. Would vintage Sunbonnet Sue qualify? Pamesue -- you have a tough act to follow. Can't wait to see what you do.

I think I will wait till I get everyones row before I start working on them. I would like to eyeball the fabrics because pictures do not ever do the object justice. Looking forward to seeing everyones blocks. I still have to do the lablels and the journal. My goal will be to mail to Nancy by feb 1.

By the way FQ Stash Queen -- my soon-to-be SIL is a finance major from LSU (also MBA), recently attained his CPA, and is also employed by Price Waterhouse in Houston. Both my daughters live in Fall Creek, in Humble, just outside Houston on Beltway 8. Small world.

Between that a breaking my left wrist all the way through tripping at the carnival (just settled lawsuit), totalling my car and having my 3 day old $500 Android phone stolen, it's been a bit rough lately.
I am 51 years old. I have one child, a 29 year old son who was married in April to a lovely, caring social worker named Erin. Two hours before the pix from their reception is when I was told my FIL had passed. My son, Brandon, is a TEXAS A&M graduate. So, I guess we have a major rivalry going in the group already. His major Christmas present was a pewter A&M door knocker with their last name engraved on it. His is a CPA/MBA and supervisor at Price Waterhouse in Houston. They just sold their townhouse (2 miles from downtown), and are planning to move to a gated community near The Woodlands (north Houston). Finally got a commitment that I would have grandchildren "within" 5 years.
I heard some concern about the fact that I live on the road. Should not be a problem. My friend Rajean (HisPatchwork on the Board) sends my meds, etc. to me about twice a month. I'll send her a priority mail stamp and she'll get an address to send it out to me the day after receiving it, or if you would rather send it priority yourself, just let me know, and I'll give you the address where I'll be. Been doing this for years, and haven't had but one or two problems, and none with priority mail.
I am terribly excited and this is not my first swap on the road. Somehow it all manages to fall into place.

The idea of adding a pic of each of us is fantastic. What a beautiful tribute to out group. If we each do a block for the back, as I believe someone suggested, we could have the pic put right on the fabric and then the info we decide we want included along with it. I would like to suggest that if we do that (a block for the back), that we include our quote from from the Board along with our Board name. I look forward to "meeting" each of you and working on your precious quilts. Sounds as if we all intend to keep them. I know I won't be able to part with mine, and given the level of skill in this group, expect mine to be your least favorite!
My "kitchen" theme does not mean I expect spoons, mixers, toasters, etc. appliqued on it. I am simply using kitchen fabrics in the Debbie Mumm line. Feel free to applique onto it if you choose, but I am using different blocks with the fabrics in it. I would also like a border, and had intended to ask about it, so is there anyone who isn't doing one? What size are most of you doing? I was thinking 1-1/2" done.
Are we going to agree to send everything priority with confirmation? Sorry, but I have a lot of trouble with the P.O. and that's the only way I seem to be guaranteed to get things. If it's a problem, I will enclose the postage for each person in with the original package and you can pass it on. Frankly, don't think it will cost a lot more than regular mail until we get to the last one or two. If you'd rather, I can just pay you back.

Thanks for the dates and mailing order, but what are the themes to go with the mailing order? Kinda like to think ahead. Not plan, cuz it never quite works out that way, but have some idea of what is coming up next.
