Lets go back to the first instructions. The light block should be white, tone on tone , or light colored fabric. That makes some of the lights similar or the same. Lets not struggle too much here. All the darks/mediums are different by our directions. As for final size, most of us will "make do" by stretching or easing, but lets work on that "scant 1/4". And until you have mastered the scant 1/4" lets avoid "chain piecing" where the errors continue block after block if you have not mastered your cutting/seaming/piecing yet. I admit this is a tough block, and certain assembly techniques add to this problem, but we are here to have fun and share and not demand our group assemble per a specific techniques because we have all skill levels in our group. I have no objection to swapping, my sizes are 4 1/2" square, and 2 1/2" triangles.

Well, here's a photo of the HST's I'm using for now. As I finish the actual blocks, I will decide which ones really don't work and pull them. Their are a couple that I'm not sure there is enough contrast. That's what I will be doing this weekend. Hopefully, I measured everything and cut everything correctly and they will go together without any problems. (I'm saying that with a smile on my face and hope in my heart. lol)

Frusteratedquilter, those are some beautiful blocks. Your right, this pattern really is a fun block and will look great scrappy.
