Shadow,

Wishing you a safe surgery and a speedy recovery.

Hoping you will be well enough to be with us on Dec. 13 when we open our ss packages. Thank you for organizing Secret Santa 2009. It is a very exciting event and we would not want you to miss it.

Just think of all of your quilting friends and your quilting condo and you will be up and about in no time at all.

Hugs.

Youngest daughter home from school with migraine. Called to see if she wanted something particular for lunch; she wants chinese from the restaurant she works at. Mind you, they just were closed 2 weeks while re-locating to a newer facility and re-opened on Monday, so QUITE busy. I tried to call on my way .... all I get is fax machine (no good from cell phone) :( .

I stop & get gas real quick, run in, place order and wait .... and wait .... and wait .... and wait .... for 30 minutes  . All I needed was 2 soups and an order of potstickers and an order of crabmeat cheese. Finally it comes up. I run home, have only about 10 minutes before have to get back to work, so I skip the mailbox.

After a few minutes with DD, who is now feeling better  , I head back to office with my food in a bag. Stop at mailbox so I won't have to do it later.

Uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. :-o  :?: There is an orange card in there........... :?: :?: :?:  :?: :?: :?:  Says I have to go to post office to pick up a package.   :?:    :?:

Don't know who it is from, but could be interesting to find out......

Now have to wait until after work and HOPE that I can get to Post Office before 5:00 closing time

What could it be??? :? Is it from my SS? :?

I'll let you all know.......
we shall be waiting!

Ok, my update is more of a confession...

My Nice: I got my SS package in the mail today and I pm'd Shadow Dancer. Since I am fairly new to the group, I don't know how to find the other person to pm so someone may have to help me

My Naughty: A box of chocolate covered cherries (a Christmas tradition in our family) absolutely would not fit in the box so I was forced to eat them so they wouldn't spoil.

My Prayer: That Shadow Dancer's doctor has the assistance of all the quilting angels to guide him. And I pray that Shadow Dancer bounces back swiftly. Thank you for all you do.

Well, Miss Mouse, wait no more ... I went to post ofc. and asked for my package.

And there it is, [the fake organ music swells and we hear that purposeful sound ..... dum-dum-duuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm!]

........ all 6" x 10" x 10" (approximately) of it .....

wrapped in brown paper ..........

my name and address printed neatly on both the front and back ......

[more organ music and the dreaded dum-dum-duuuuummmmmm again .....]

..... the box is marked "Handle with care" and "Do not open before Dec. 13" .....

ohhhhh, Miss Mouse, I really, really, really, really, REALLY want to open it!

Husband asked what is in the box? I said, "I don't know! But it's what I always wanted!"

Those bad people at the post office poked a little hole in the brown paper wrapping, and I can see something red (looks like it might be fabric, but can't be too sure, the hole is not big enough), and I can see the end of a small safety pin in it.

Oh, it is calling me: "O-DEEEEEEEEESSSS-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

"O-DEEEEEEEEESSSS-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

[I laugh a little nervous laugh ... ... boxes aren't supposed to talk, are they?]

"O-DEEEEEEEEESSSS-AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Oh, my, how am I EVER going to wait a WHOLE MONTH before opening this???????

Oh, this is going to make me crazy (and it is not much of a trip lately!)

Husband is no help ... keeps picking it up, gently shaking it "there is something hard in there, it knocks against the walls of the box!" He is terrible at keeping secrets.

I do know that my package came from CANADA, which is all I am prepared to say about the sender. Whomever this person is, and they know who they are, I can safely say that I thank them very much.

Help me, Mousie .... I don't know if I can weather this storm .....

I have just recieved my parcel. It is going to be a long wait now. I might have to leave the parcel at my neighbours so I am not tempted.
Cheers Jackie.
