Now the Dane jumped off the bed this morning and hurt herself. Turns out she has a herniated disc that is pressing on her sciatic nerve, so she is in a lot of pain. Just hoping the Rymadyl kicks in quickly. She can't climb stairs now and can barely walk; she is a mama's girl, so we will be sleeping in the spare bedroom on the ground floor for a week. Still have to get some more things, or make some more things for my SS, but probably not this week. Sure hope everyone's injuries heal quickly. I had a rotator cuff injury in the spring and know how painful that is, luckily it wasn't bad and didn't need surgery. Hope the broken shoulder heals so you don't need the pin in it.
Earlier this summer my rottie herniated his disc as well and was paralyzed in the rear for 2 weeks. I found the most AMAZING sling ever, saved me from herniating MY back. He still has some residual neuro damage in the rear but at least he moves on his own and can hold his bathroom habits. I had to get him a cortisone shot from the vet, helps it go down real fast, then I had him on rimadyl for 2 weeks. After he started dragging me out the door I decided no more rimadyl for him. Luckily I had a whole bottle I had just bought for his mom for her cancer pain. (put her down in April) so they didn't get to hit me with that bill as well. Hope he gets better soon, if you need to know the sling I got, let me know. I got it on ebay, reasonable price, fits a pretty big dog, and got it over night. like ordered it at 9pm and got it by 10am the next day. AMAZING. The vet had never seen a sling like it.

Started my shopping for sp today. I know I am behind. She hasnt posted anything on here to help me since she put hardly nothing on her sheet. I did however have the same PI that others used to get me some info. Thanks PI. You're the best.

I have finished some handmade item for you as well and have more planned. I also have some tasty homemade food items planned or should i say in the cellar for you.

Do have one questions, are hints allowed here as they are on other swap threads. Just wondering.

tell me who or what is the PI who gave you info or suggestions for your Santaee?

I could really use some information...got some ideas but would like to send her something that she might have on her wish list. I keep checking her threads and posts but not much is there either and she was not in any before this year.

So if your PI is playing one of Santa's elves, I would like to get in touch with them.......thanks......mj

I feel for those with injured pets. It is so hard to see them suffering and in pain. We used a bath towel as a sling when Cassie tore her ACL, but she was lab sized, not a Dane. I cannot imagine having to help lift a dog that big.

My giftee has pets, I will have to plan something special for them. I am concerned about putting pet treats in the box. I know my cats and dog would rip into it when I was at work.

Last year when I sent treats for the dog, I wrapped them in foil and then a ziplock bag...enough to throw the dog off the scent...

I live with 4 fur babies. I guess to be safe I'll need to store my package in a safe place before I open it. I lose pillows and quilts and just about anything else that will fit through the doggie dog on a daily basis. The don't tear them up just haul them outside and drag them through the sand.

I also live with 4 horses. Sure am glad they can't fit through the doggie door.
