I'm having a party.....a pity party and your all invited,....to help cheer me up. I found out this week that I will have to have reconstructive foot surgery on Monday Nov 14th. I will then be NON weight bearing for 6-8 weeks!!!!!! Then on a boot / cast for 6-8 weeks after that! so glad I enjoy handwork huh???
What's bad, is I had this same surgery in Feb of this year, but after 9 months the bones have only fused 25%! So this time, I have to have 3 bigger screws put in, he will then draw bone marrow from my hip and make a 'joint compound' (if you will) and put it between the joints to help them fuse. Please join me in prayer that this time it will fuse together as it's supposed to. Thank you.

Wow! The hard part is that you are enduring all of this. It sounds grueling. The wonderful part is that we live in a time when this is even possible. Remember how futuristic the Bionic Woman was, back in the day? Now we have her right here on our board! I wish you success and pray for your speedy recovery. Now, if someone asks if you have a screw loose, you can say, "Hmmm....I don't know!"

My secret santa box arrived yesterday. My santa could not have picked a better day. I brought hubby home from the hospital after a new surgery. We were both down and the box on the porch brightened my day! Thanks so much Santa.

Oh my, I maybe did the wrong thing signing up for this. Reading all these post has me stressed. I don't need any more socks or scarves or stuff and I just want to say I hope my Santa is not fussing over me. if I got a whole box of 2 1/2" charms squares or 5" I spy's or old ugly fabric the elves don't want anymore, I be as happy as a pig in my sewing room. It's been a while since I lurked in (2 weeks). I had over 15 pages to catch-up. I missed a few questions sets. I'm going to answer the questions, but 1st a comment to my Secret Santa. Whatever you send me I will like. So do not sweat over if I will like it or not. I appreciate everything. I will know it came from your heart. So anyway, here's my answers.
1. Clover style binding clips = no
2. Not a fan of book marks. I read on I-phone.
3. I love magazine subscription = Fon's and Porter, Quiltmaker, or any other you may think I will like.
4. I do not do anything with hand sewing if I can help it. Too many projects, not enough time.
5. Yes I love fat ink pens, and I do not need anymore tablets. I have lots already.
6. # pins could be useful.
7. I don't do hand sewing so I don't need a thimble, nor do I have need of a rubber bobbin holder. My bobbins are in an enclosed plastic holder.
8. The places I would like to visit again, Alaska and Hawaii. I love both places.
9. Parsley fabric = Not my style. I'm curious what Batik parsley fabric looks like, but I don't particularly want some.
10. I do Applique, But I don't need any patterns or books. I have lots.
11. I do have an Applique iron sheet.
12. I use thread I can use in my sewing machines.
13. Speciality rulers = I have lots. But I curious about the ruler where you can make 6 different table runners using 2 1/2" sq.
14. I have many rotary cutters. I could use 45mm or 60mm blades. I could never have enough of those. I would also use a blade sharpener.
15. I have numerous cutting mats and iron surfaces.
16. Seam ripper = I though I had lots of them. Can't find a single one lately. That ghost has struck again. LOL
17. Microtip fiskers = I could use a pair.
18. Yes I wear glasses, but have tons of glass cases.
19. I love to cook and bake when I have time.
20. My 2 dogs would love any treats you send their way. They are not too picky.
21. As for F-1/4 verses yardage cut. Either way. Just let me know the yardage is in place of the F-1/4's.
22. I love mini patterns. Medium to hard patterns.
Another question? Has anyone heard if Bonnie Hunter will be doing a Mystery quilt this year? Just Curious.
That's all of my answers to the questions. I hope it helps my SS.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. It is Sunny and temps in the 70's today, my type of weather.
