So glad you like it... I still have some people that didn't get their coal to me before I sent your bucket. I'll send it on to you as soon as I receive everyone that is going to send ....

They had knocked on my door but I was deeply into sewing and did not hear them My son-in-law picked me up half way to his house. Fortunately we live just a few house from each other. I am now sitting at their house waiting for the gas company to come and shut the meter off. Fortunately the only gas appliances are the heater/ac unit and the hot water heater. Any way I am over here for awhile. Will complete the gift tomorrow, pick up a couple more items and mail by the dead line. I hate just sitting and waiting.
A similar thing happened to me a number of years back. I was invited to a baby shower and had bought a sweet cheater quilt so all I had to do was put on the binding which was an islet ruffle. I waited until the morning of the shower and sat at the machine. Did you guess? The power went out and did not come back on til late afternoon. Lucky for me the shower was in the evening so I got it done but what a day I spent worrying whether to do it by hand or wait for the machine. Anyway, she liked it so all ended well. As it did for you. Sorry you had such a day.

She says she does not want a money tree; Santa can keep the branches, bark and roots .... she just wants the loot! Now that's the spirit of Christmas

Pearl Bailey's "5 Pound Box of Money":
Hey Santa Claus
You want to make me happy this year?
Listen to me, honey
Give Pearl something that would be of some use to me
Like a five pound box of money
Now there's a little gift
That's loaded with
Lots of sentiment
See, when I get blue, Santa
I'm gonna think of you
But at the same time have a little change to pay my rent
Now, money isn't everything
There's no two ways about it
But while we're here, Santa dear
It's much better with it than without it
So really, I could be real good
And not do nothin' funny
If you do like I ask you
Stop by right on Christmas night
And try me, try me, try me on that money
Just try me, honey
Santa, can you hear me?
Have you listened to everything I've been asking you about?
Listen honey, Santa dear,
The New Year would be so bright and sunny
Just bring me that simple thing that I've been speaking to you about
And bring me a five pound box of money
That's all, that's all
It would be so heavenly
And help me meet both ends, yes indeed
But old Pearl been needin' bad
A five pound box of tens
Really, how much could that weigh?
I don't want the whole money tree
What good is that big thing to me?
You keep the branches, the trunk, and the roots
'Cause all I want is just a little bit of the fruit
So if you wanna be sure I'll be yours
Little old honey, honey bunny
You can start me off on Christmas night
With a five pound – no, I better increase that, ten pounds
No, I better beg big while I'm beggin'
'Cause you know, I might not catch you next year
'Cause sometimes people go out and you don't see them no more
So bring the money
Santa! Do you hear me?

Thank you starshine. It was nice of you to consider my feelings. I did open with everyone on the eleventh and actually I am glad I did. It was fun being a part of the day. I enjoy the religious part of Christmas day and make it fun with music, movie, dinner out with family and I work on a project I enjoy making. I save a book to read and chocolates to eat and a jig saw puzzle on the holiday theme. It is a nice day that way. I appreciate your post and wish you a fun holiday.

THAT'S IT!!!! Isn't it cute? Where did you find the words? Great that you could post them. I sure am laughing. I wonder if it was written and sung during the depression but it fits the times we are in now, too. Thanks for the words.
