I bought three of the 9-hole cubby shelves from Wal-Mart. When assembled they are 3' X 3' X 1'. I attached two of them to the back of the third one, so that they formed a 3' X 4' rectangle. The open side went against the wall. Then I went to Home Depot and got a piece of melamine board cut to 3' X 4' and put it on top of the cubbies. This gave me a cutting surface that was 3' X 4', with plenty of fabric storage underneath. 🙂

Years ago I purchased an old library table from a second hand store for $25. The veneer on its top was bad so I screwed a piece of plywood on top and used it for an island in my kitchen for years. It will eventually go into a larger room when I get one and will be my cutting table. Since I am not too tall, it is the perfect height for me. Hooks around the sides will hold my rulers and rotary cutters to keep them handy.

I just purchased this table from Lowe's to use as my cutting table. It is 36" high. It was a 2 person job to put together, not difficult, just kind of awkward as the pieces are large and you need more than 2 hands.

I made mine using those cubes from michaels and a top from an old folding craft table. After taking this I got a custom size cutting mat that covers the entire top. I need to take new pics.

I did something along the same lines. My friend built me some risers with a wider base for stability out of wood. And then the top of the risers have a hole that the table leg fits in.

I have PVC on the legs of my cutting table (heavy folding table) that I had cut to 12" for extra height. The table came from a quilt shop that closed.

I have this one.....I think! I asked for help at Ikea and the man who helped me showed me this one I believe. It adjusts I know that. I'm short but I like it a bit taller. Oh wait. I use it as an ironing table!!! I added a couple of layers of batting and some really cute fabric. My husband stapled it all to the table.

I like to be able to move around the other side, so I don't hae to turn the fabric or mat, so I use an adjustable drafting table that can be set flat and pretty high so no leaning over. it's not as big as I'd like, but my space doesn't allow for more anyway--holds a 36x23" mat with some space at the side to set some cutter/ruler organizers. Underneath I can put tubs of fabric, etc.
