These are on sale for $134.00 right now - may have to look into this - would be perfect for my big board! Thanks for the idea. Also - was told that Menards had Best Press for $5.00 per bottle. Will have to look tomorrow.

How tall is that work bench? I might need to go to HFT!

How do you use them on your LA?

Instead of attaching the bottom edge of the quilt top to the leader on the roller that holds the quilt top, I let it drape over the front of the table. Attach the backing as usual. My frame has a "belly bar" on it which all frames don't use. I let the quilt top drape over the belly bar and put the magnetic bar (or 2 depending on how large the quilt top is) on the quilt top to secure it to the belly bar and keep it smooth. Recently saw a Youtube video where the woman had attached little round drawer handles to the magnetic tool bar to help with removing it from the quilt frame. There are holes on the tool bar for attaching it to the wall and she just used nuts and screws to thread through the holes into the handles. I'm going to try that since the tool bar magnet is so strong that it's sometimes hard to remove. I kept mine in the original plastic package until it fell apart because it gave me something to hold onto to get it off the quilt!

We went couple years ago HF and purchased these moving blankets for our dogs and for our back seats since our kids "dogs" go with us 95% of the time. None of them lasted 2 months ...like RJ said, there nails just ripped them to pieces. For the igloo dog houses they of course didn't make it through the winter but we just kept replacing them until all the blankets were gone (25). Boston Mom

OTE=tropit;7867905]I'm married to a general contractor, so I spend a lot of time with him, shopping at places like Home Depot, Friedman's and online at Harbor Freight Tools. (Yawn...I hate shopping with him...LOL.) However, I've found some interesting things at HFT that could apply to quilt making and sewing space that are pretty cheap and very sturdy. They're having a big sale right now, so I thought I'd pass on some ideas.

- "40 X 72" moving blankets (might be wonderful for a quick, padded, outdoor, quilt back) $3.99

- 2 shelf industrial cart, polypropylene, (OK...kinda ugly, but indestructible) $79.99

- 3-shelf, bright red, steel, rolling cart, (also comes in magenta, super cute in a sewing room) $49.99

- 60" 4-drawer, hardwood workbench, (extremely sturdy and nice looking too) $129.99

- 15" zippered tool bag, (big, roomy, good for quilting on the go) $6.99

- 60 Yards Masking Paper, (great for making patterns) $5.99

- 4' x 12' canvas drop cloth (I'm using these to make curtains, bed skirt and window shades...cheap!) $8.99

Anyone else have some good ideas on how to make use of items from the big box hardware stores?

DAC048, I have that same bag, in fact have already bought 4 of them, for myself to take to quilt group and 2 friends who now think I am a genius for finding these!

Ask for carpet tools.
