Moving my fabric & sewing rooms
Last week my hubs hit me with the following statement.
"I am thinking about moving my desk, and the computers
along with anything else I have on my side of the living room.
Going to move your fabric and stuff out of the second bedroom.
This will put ALL of your fabric, sewing stuff together in one
general area."
So since he had a 4 day weekend (Friday thru Monday), he proceeded
to make the move.
This weekend I decided it was well PAST time to downsize all my
fabric again. I used to do this 2 times a year, but haven't for about
3-4 years.
This The photos below show about HALF my fabric. There is about
24+ bins of fabric (including the ones hidden). The rest of the bins
are in the process of being brought out for me to stack.
This is going to be a LONG project trying to go through all the fabric.

Behind ALL the bins in the second photo is a fireplace that we
have NEVER used.

Oh my!! You have a job ahead of you! I had this going on..I finally went the wrapping on comic board route and bought book shelves. I found myself buying new fabric instead of sorting thru all the bins. I can now see what I have, (besides lots of shelves) and do find myself looking thru stash first. Good luck.

I have been TRYING to put my fabric on the comic boards for awhile.
But so far they are only making their way into boxes and bins until I
shelving so I can put them on.

I don't really have any girl friends close by who could
come help me unload some of this.
On a positive note I have sorted 2 scrap bins, only 4-6
more scrap bins to go. I figured if I could sort all them
into bags (by width size) that it would create some empty
bins to help the sorting of keep, donate etc...
My bags are sorted in the following manner:
2" or less
2"-3-1/2" (but less than 4")
4"+
Christmas
Flannel
Pinks (for a quilt for my oldest daughter)
The first empty bin is for scraps I want to keep for myself.

As one who does not have a 'stash'...do you do scrappy quilts? Would it be worth forwarding your scraps to someone else perhaps? Leave only the large pieces in your stash? Just to try to tame what you have??? Just a thought.
