If you want to be able to put you machine down level with the table, look into the Arrow table. They have a couple of different ones and they are priced based on the size of the machine. The lift mechanism is manual and adjusts to different heights. The pictures below are of the one I have. Because my machine was older, and not as wide as the newer machines, I had to put in inserts in the gaps (I cut up a thick plastic place mat to make the inserts). The table cost less than $150.

The table is available on Amazon with free shipping.

My biggest problem is space. I would love a nice big table but until I get rid of a kid or two, that ain't happening.

Hey lalaland, you and I have the same two cabinets! I keep my Juki (straight stitch machine) on top of the Sauder, and my Singer (with all the fancy stitches) on top of the Gidget table. I don't put my Singer into the drop-down because it's too much of a hassle to get to the bobbin. :)

Sewing Table

I never realized how much easier sewing would be until I got this desk, it has a function for hiring & lowering the machine-I am in love and want more desks w/ inserts for my other machines. Sorry I don't know the brand as I bought it off craig's list a while back.

I don't know what you are paying for this one but if you are happy with it that's all that matters. I've been looking for the right one for my room for years, hoping not to have to move the treadmill out of my sewing room because the only other place to put it is in our master bedroom. But I stumbled upon the Quilter's Vision made by Tailormade at a store in Portland, Oregon on sale for almost half off and it's everything I could dream of in a cabinet. DH told me when I got home to measure, to go ahead and order it and we'll figure it out with the treadmill. So we will be moving that out and moving the sewing machine cabinet in. I will certainly use it more than treadmill LoL! A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!!

If you need something that folds up, I think the Sew-Ezi looks great -- lots of rave reviews online.
You can buy an insert for most any machine, but this does add to your cost...check them out online.
If you can find one with drawers or storage, this is a big plus.
Do think about whether you're really going to need to fold it up, and put your sewing machine & projects away somewhere...you may not need a folding table?

Very nice cabinet for small area. Just make sure the opening for your sewing machine is large enough that your machine fits down into it. Cabinets come with different size inserts. I really do love the machine sewing area being level with the table top. Happy sewing!!

Your cabinet looks something like the one I got my daughter off Craigslist for $40 a few years ago. Not the exact same one. On hers one of the doors opens and supports a shelf. I think Walmart sold it for about $150. I holds a lot of stuff and stores the sewing machine under it when not in use ... Yeah Right ??? Like quilters ever store their machines.

This cabinet IMHO is quite spendy. However, if this is what you need at this time in life....go for it. You can always sell it....change things around when you have room. Ideally, one wants to sew!!! Do what works for you in the NOW. There is always time later to change things. I love my sew ez table too. It is on wheels and I can move it around. It is great for a lot of things. However, it does not store things like this cabinet does. I recently posted a great alternative on the Wanted looking to find section. Using a $35.00 adjustable table from Walmart you can have someone make a top as large as you want, or just use it as is.....until you find room or ????? Again it is a table, without any storage, but certainly a lot cheaper and will do the job. I could send pictures if I knew how to post them. Or I could send them to an email if you like.
