Ok I broke down and went to Mile High Comics and purchased
the "Silver Age" comic backing boards. They are 7x10-1/2 inches slightly larger than the "current" issue boards which are about 6-3/4 x101/2" got 200 boards to start with but I know I will end up needing about 4-5 times that many once I get started. Now my problem is going to be WHERE/HOW will I store all these after I get my fabric folded onto them. But I will NOT go back to the store where I got these from as the guy pretty much made me mad as heck. He asked what was I planning to use that many boards for I told him for folding my fabric onto them. He made a few RUDE comments about about how "crafters" are always using things not intended for them. I told him I was being NICE by bringing my business LOCALLY to his store as to going to a big chain store or online to get them. But if he didn't want my business that was fine with me I can shop else where. Country1 |

Quilty Louise,I would make a comment about crafters always using things in a way that they are not intended for and say, "Yes, we are so creative and learn to think out of the box. Can you do that?"

Great organization and a great stash. :)

I have tried folding my fabrics over a 5 inch ruler and then sliding off. Saves space and makes it very neat. Have a long way to go yet though!

Looks fabulous!

Wow! I love your stash! It looks so nice. How easy to find just the right fabric. Great job!

OK, I am so impressed. Now what do I use to do the same thing ? Foam boards from where or comic boards from where. Help, please.

Beautifully organized! Best part is if you just need a color fix all you have to do is open a drawer.

Thanks to everyone for your nice comments! I think I will be checking thrift stores for dressers in the future! I have a few places around the house that I could easily put a few...
I did most of the wrapping while enjoying some Netflix streamed TV Shows (finally getting hooked on Downton Abbey!) and listening to an audiobook. I started folding FQs for the top drawers yesterday and then will get back to another section of my stash. I'm not going put it all on boards because 1) I don't have enough bookcase or drawer space and 2)I have a lot of stash and my current system works pretty well. The most active stash is in the drawers as I'm always looking for binding to match a UFO or a blender fabric and love being able to see them at a glance! |
