Thanks for your supportive comments. I seldom make a quilt for myself. Maybe it is that that I do! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/boy.gif Most of the quilts I make are donated to others, not me. I will frequently hear the still small voice of the Lord tell me who should get the quilt. I finish it and gift it to an individual who needs a warming hug in a time of stress or just needs to reminded that they are valued.

That is an awesome way to give your quilts.

2 of my quilts were hard to part with until I found a nudging for the recipient. Most of my quilts are tops only until they are finished by my church group for donation.

I donated a quilt today for the first time - to the woman's shelter - a nice big twin 70x90.
nice feeling.

I'm organizing more fabric and thinking about another one.

I am organizing 2 things today...my work area and my computer.

My work area has been filling up with all kinds of things that I had gathered up in January to take to the thrift store. But then, Covid-19 hit and I haven't been able to donate them, so there they sit. Today, they are going back to their respective storage places and the floor will be cleared off and the workspace will be orderly.

The second is my computer, which I bought last November and have been working slowly to change over to it. It's desktop that we use mostly for business and is replacing a very old, if not perfectly good computer. I am worried that my old workhorse will just go out one day and I'll lose all of my files.

This new computer has been a huge nightmare. It looks simple, easy and sleek, but it most definitely is not. Wires, wires everywhere! I just got the sound to work yesterday. The new, accounting software is not working properly and I have yet to migrate my email. I have a lot of back log posting to do...Augh!!! I hope to be done by the end of the year. But today, I'm just going to quilt and listen to some music on the new computer, because I now can.

Tropit- I feel your pain. Every time I've replaced a computer I've found some software that doesn't work the way it did on the old one.

Yesterday I got a little more done on my CV and I'd planned on doing some more today, but I have to admit, I'm thinking of giving myself the day off since it's a weekend https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png.

I put myself in a little bit of a bind in the studio yesterday because I needed a backing fabric for a UFO I want to get quilted, but I didn't have anything. Sooo, I decided to over-dye/paint a piece of really ugly brown fabric that is exactly the right size. Unfortunately I didn't take into account that the process I like to use to do this takes several days to dry. Now, my big table in my multipurpose studio is out of commission because I can't move the fabric while it's wet. That table is also my main large work surface that gets used for all the other things I do in that studio and it also is where I sandwich my quilts......

Since I can't work on sandwiching a quilt, I think I'll do some organizing in my quilting studio where my small cutting table has become a dumping ground for things I don't know what to do with. (Againhttps://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/eek.png). I think I'll spend some time today clearing it off and finding places for the stuff that's strewn across the top. I also need to get a handle on my batting scraps. That all sounds doable.

Today is the day for this girl to organize her jelly rolls. I have a huge plastic container where I keep all my jelly rolls that are really partial rolls left over from previous projects. Using my ironing board to hang the strips sorted by color. Looks kinda like a box of crayons....lol Finding some strips that won't work with any color so who knows what may happen to those. Do I hear a cheer for cutting the into 2 1/2 inch strips? Is this a symptom of OCD?

Now I know how much I have with each color. Maybe doing this will help me with the next scrappy project. I can only hope.OK. Break over and back to work.

!!! Just finished with organizing the jelly rolls. All those colors wrapped up in rubber bands looks so colorful. It was interesting when I was all done realizing how much I had of each color. Sorry fabric shop(s) you won't be seeing me for a while. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wink.png

We got a new apple computer last September because we had windows 7 on a hp and they were not going to support it any more. I had a hard time getting everything transferred and used to the way the Apple worked. I just keep on working in my programs and am about now feeling comfortable with it. I lost my Adobe Photo and a paint program. My son was here and wanted to copy family photos so between us we figured out how to use Apple photos with our printer. Just keep pecking away at it and you will be able to use it comfortably again

My sewing room is a mess. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/wave.gif I did so well clearing, folding fabric and then, it was like everything exploded. Back to simply putting items back into place. Feeling over whelmed with small projects: dog beds, Christmas projects, next step in a mystery quilt, unfinished this and that, found orphan blocks and on and on. Nothing different from any one else but my organization efforts made those projects visible. Doing the Virtual Quilt Weekend and to help me focus on just a few doable projects. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/boy.gif

Teach...the gnome that came to your sewing room during the night and played around must be a relative of the gnome that came to visit me a couple nights ago. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/eek.png
