Playing with jelly rolls today. Have a dinosaur panel that is screaming for colorful boarders. Ironing board covered with scraps and waiting for sun to come ulp to make sure I choose the right colors.

Hooligan: I’m sure it was hard to say goodbye to them but at least you are getting some spare parts.
Happy April, everyone! I am still working through my scrap project list. Never ending task but progress is being made on it. I also have been sorting scraps I brought home from my church group. Some I keep. Some I put in the bag to recycle.
As far as my March house list, only one thing happened. I cleaned out a closet so I could take out the shelf and paint it. Well, the stuff is still sitting in the bedroom waiting for the next step. 🤷♀️ March is a tough month for me, especially the 3rd week, as it marks my husband’s death (was 11 years), his birthday, and memorial service-all within 4 days time. Plus I got both of my vaccine doses so it was more emotional than usual. Instead of working on the closets this month, I will spend time underneath my stair steps and the connecting crawl space. Time to see if I have more to donate to a fundraiser or to a charity.

5.30 AM in NM. Plan on attacking the mountain of batting for an hour. Found some huge fused pieces almost large enough for the dino lap quilt. DH asked...wouldn't it be smarter to just throw the scraps away. Well, he won't ask THAT question again...lol

Today I am going to attack the pile of stuff that is making it hard to turn on two of the lights in my quilting studio- if I can figure out what to do with everything that’s on the floor (or convince myself to get rid of it all) my life will be much improved- does anyone else feel that the quest to organize and declutter is never-ending???????

Yep sure do! I'm getting better at organizing but failing miserably at decluttering. I just can't bear to toss fab out which is why I'm doing charity quilting. My donation of 13 quilts went to Ronald McDonald House so that's the incentive to sew. How do we sew faster?
I made a huge mess with my jelly rolls yesterday finding the right ones to double boarder the dino quilt. Needed lots of strips. Before going to bed I found myself tri folding jelly rolls and couldn't stop.
They say it takes 6 weeks to learn or unlearn a habit. I'm on DAY TWO.

I cleaned my front porch and front yard today and planted every dang pot full of flowers, taking a break in the middle to sew the binding onto a quilt. (and stop sweating!)
Tomorrow, the back yard and deck and more flowers - if I can move, after today. 😄 My back yard is cluttered with pots and things I "might need someday" and everything needs pruning and the compost pile needs turning and using.
There is always something - always.

I agree it seems like I am always organizing and/or decluttering. I have watched a few minimalism videos and I know that isn’t for me at this time. However, there are ideas that I think about as I go through the organizing/decluttering stages.
Julienm1: ❤️ that your husband won’t ask you about throwing away batting again. Our church preschool has been taking the small batting scraps. I have no clue how they use them. 🤷♀️
thepolyparrot: I saw a huge dandelion plant at my neighbor’s house this afternoon. Way too early for them to be popping up already but it was in a very sunny spot with protection from the house. I do have tiger lilies up a few inches and my peonies are starting to break through also. Very early for them too.

Connie, my back yard is full of big dandelions, too. It's late for them here in Texas, but we just had that real hard freeze last month.
I like dandelions because they put down deep roots and help open up the sticky clay. I'd grow them as a ground cover if they didn't grow so darn fast and give snakes a good hiding place. I'd have to mow every day.
One of my Asiatic lilies is coming up, but that's because it was in the house all winter. I think the others are probably all dead from the -17 degrees. My irises suffered from that too - only five or six are up, where usually in April, they're in full flush and getting ready to bloom.
