I will be at Houston, but like Bessie, I live close, in Pearland, I am about 45 minutes to the GRB Convention Center. It is an awesome show, I especially like visiting the vendors.

I'll be there with my mom!!! We are about 3 to 3 1/2 hours away. We used to stay with my grandmother who lived in Houston and make a big trip out of it. She really enjoyed our show and tell each night when we got back. Now that she is gone we stay with my mothers sister-in-law (my aunt) who lives in Baytown.
Anyone else considering taking any classes there this year? I was thinking about it but the class schedule isn't posted, you have to wait until July and order it by mail for $3.00. I know three dollars isn't much but all the other shows have their classes listed on-line. It kinda ticks me off that after buying the tickets for 2 days and the hundreds of dollars that my mom and I spend each year at the show that they have to come up with another way to get a few bucks out of ya.

I'm going. I told dear husband that I preferred he stay home. LOL. I know that he would just be grumpy for the weekend. I plan to fly in on Thurs and out on Sat. Quick trip. Came to show 5 or 6 yrs ago and I am looking forward to this year.

I have just the answer for you (I've grown up with Houston traffic, so when I go somewhere else, I wonder where the heck everyone else is - with the possible exception of Boston!)... you fly in, take a shuttle to your hotel, which, of course, is right across the street from the George R. Brown, and you never have to experience the traffic. Now, there... feel better? C'mon back to Houston. It's not the same without you!

COOL!! Where are you staying? I'm flying in on the 3d. Can't wait to meet everyone! When the time gets closer, we need to make plans for everyone to meet up for dinnerOriginally Posted by ligia

I'm going. My cousin and I have a standard date every year. This is our girl time. We only go for one day and then she plans fun things for us to do the rest of the weekend. We have been doing this for the past 10 years. I wouldn't miss it for the world. She lives in Houston and we do the bus ride. You park in a lot and you pay a fee and take the bus in town and get on the bus when you want to leave. It is great and we don't have to deal with the traffic.
