Hey Cindy~
I threw my hat in for breakfast too and don't know where it is either.

I'm planning on Thursday. It shouldn't be a problem for me to take Friday off work. Getting closer! Gotta get through May at it always seems like a long month.

cbridges22 04-27-2011 12:18 PM

I am in for breakfast too on Friday if I get up the nerve to call in sick!cough, cough

KarenBarnes 04-27-2011 01:13 PM

So far all have said that they are coming Thursday. We have quilters coming from the Seattle area and one who is from the Northern Cal area! If you can't make it Thursday there will be space on Friday and you may come when you can.

I can't remember the name of the restaurant that Faith has taken her husband to but they drive all the way to LC just for breakfast! It had better be good with that kind of recommendation! :)

Colbaltjars62 04-27-2011 04:00 PM

Oh Karen it is...
The Beach Dog Cafe. They are open from 7am til 3 pm Tuesday thru Sunday. They serve Breakfast all day and they have some of the BEST hotdogs ever!!!!! No french fries (sorry) but they do have grilled potatoes that are really good. Roger (my Hubby) Recommends the Taco dog. I have had it and it is good.....
I am waiting to find out what we are lacking as far as goodies til we get a little closer to the date of the retreat. :XD:
Faith :D

KarenBarnes 04-27-2011 06:04 PM

Thanks Faith! Now we all have it in writing! That was my problem, I hadn't written it down so out it went! :)

Payment today received from TrishB and PattyJo. That makes 11! Now the price begins to go down ever so slightly with each quilter! Yay!

sew cornie 04-27-2011 07:00 PM

I'm bringing fruit, ice cream, Hershey's syrup and a variety of teas.

At this time I'm anticipating coming on Friday, not Thursday. I'll know more closer to the date.

KarenBarnes 04-28-2011 07:26 PM

Payment today from Quilttiludrop! That makes 12! We're getting closer to the fun!

Thanks Jen, I'll include your food in the update tomorrow afternoon.

UglyCook 04-28-2011 07:27 PM

Really! Mine is in the mail :(

KarenBarnes 04-28-2011 07:29 PM

I know, I'm waiting! :) Only 4 to go that have said they wanted to come! Yay! Can't wait to meet everyone and have a party!

Fidissimus 04-29-2011 03:15 PM

I'm at home today pretty much in bed trying to get over a nasty head cold... I don't have much else going on, so me and the internet are good buddies this afternoon. ;^)

KarenBarnes 04-29-2011 06:06 PM

Update for the day! Let me know if I've missed something! I just wanted to post so you don't have to go back through pages and pages to get the info. I thought I would post the link for the house as well. I don't have the exact address but will let you all know it as soon as I do. http://www.oregonvacationcabins.com/ (The Sea Haven house is the one we are going to use.)

Food:
Condiments and a pound cake and coffee (Cbridges), a turkey, etc (Feathers) a chicken lasagna and Costco muffins (quilttiludrop), red wine (Winewoman), birthday cake for 2Doods & Feathers (Karen) veggie/dip tray and salad(2Doods),fruit, ice cream, Hershey's syrup and a variety of teas (SewCornie).

Feathers has a bingo game and a word game. Bring 3 fat quarters (purchased or cut it yourself).

Sounds like we might play Scrabble and a few other games as well!

Please get your money in asap (if you haven't already)! The money is already paid based on 11 people! I have listed as paid: 2 Doods, Feathers, Sharon, WineWoman, CobaltJars, SewCornie, Cbridges, mistiliz, TrishB, PattyJo, Quilttiludrop, UglyCook and myself. The only one I haven't heard from lately is Bluelady. We have 13 confirmed and two more have checks in the mail!

Hope you feel better soon Fidissimus!

UglyCook 04-29-2011 06:29 PM

Yay!!! You got mine.

I talked to Bluelady today and twisted her arm a bit more. I really need her to ride down with me and keep me awake.

KarenBarnes 04-29-2011 09:23 PM

UglyCook, mistiliz is coming from up your way as well(Federal Way). You might PM her about a carpool. Then you will all be acquainted and be a step up on the weekend! :)

For those who are new to the group, please don't worry about meeting us! We are really open to making new friends and we have a common bond in fabric and quilts! I'm sure we will have a lot to talk about during the weekend. Don't women always have this in common? :)

KarenBarnes 04-30-2011 04:03 PM

Payment today from Stitchy65! That makes 14 for sure and tomorrow makes it only a month away! Yahoo!

stitchy65 04-30-2011 07:55 PM

Hello all! I am planning on heading to the beach house Thursday after I get off work at 6pm. Will there be anyone going down Thursday that will be going through Sherwood that wouldn't mind carpooling? I'll pitch in for gas. Let me know,

Angela

mistiliz 04-30-2011 09:47 PM

Hello all!

I am planning on coming down on Friday. IF I can get out of my appointment on Thursday, I will head down.

Are we bringing and making our own food? I plan on bringing a dessert for our first night.

This is exciting!

Liz

KarenBarnes 05-01-2011 06:21 AM

Liz, check the updates pretty much on each page. I'm trying to make it so that you don't have to go back through pages to find out what's going on! There is one on the previous page. I know that Cbridges is bringing a pound cake and I'm bringing birthday cake since we have two birthdays that weekend.

2 Doods 05-02-2011 07:25 AM

Hey ladies! If I bring a little practice piece would someone show me how to handquilt? It is on my list of "must learn to do".

Peeks of sunshine! Hope we have some at the beach but either way, we are going to have a great time! Anxiously waiting! One month to go!

KarenBarnes 05-02-2011 09:58 AM

I'll show you how I do it Alice! Not a pro but been doing it for a while!

cbridges22 05-02-2011 01:38 PM

I've done a little. I find it very relaxing. I can bring some applique sharps. All you'll need to bring is fabric and thread.

I am thinking I'm going to bring the individual packages I found recently at Goodwill. It is the block-of-the-month club Joann' put out last year. I got a fabulous deal on all of it! I would also like to learn to do hand quilting and applique. Does anyone mind if I bring along some smaller blocks ready to try to learn those skills? What other kinds of skills are the more experienced quilters in the group willing to teach?

I'm sending out the check today for a final total of 16! The house holds 22 and we can have more people up until 2 weeks before but that does mean for certain that beds will need to be shared. Some have said they have some friends that want to come so let me know commitments asap!

quiltingnonie 05-03-2011 09:13 AM

Great! I am working on putting together a supply list, so will post it here soon

Would anyone object to cheddar jalapeno Cheetos? Is there another kind of chips the ladies in the group like?

Colbaltjars62 05-05-2011 11:07 PM

I was wondering if anyone has allergies that we should be aware of. I know there are some that can't be around Peanuts but is there anything else we should avoid.

stitchy65 05-06-2011 05:23 AM

I am allergic to Shitake mushrooms. Any other kind of mushrooms are fine.

stitchy65 05-06-2011 05:24 AM

I am allergic to Shitake mushrooms only.

KarenBarnes 05-06-2011 05:53 AM
