Katrine, Thank you for the advice. I did the backing for my quilt today and just have to sew the pieces together. Decided not to spend anymore time on it by doing a double backed quilt. Read somewhere where you need to practice every day for 20 mins for several weeks to get the hang of it and I do believe that. The Japanese fans will be fairly run of the meal as I plan to just outline the blocks and the fan "spikes". I have got some really nice quilting patterns on my Brother which I have never used so perhaps this is the time to have a go on the outside edge.

You know you would always be welcome if you want to come on over and learn PP. My ladies at the club would love to meet you too.

Elle

Beautiful quilt. Do you do all the quilting by your home machine? I am so scared to tangle a big quilt on my home machine. but it is getting time, I am almost done with the quilt top. So its either bite the bullet and do it by home machine, or pay someone to do it. I am needing some push, anyone???

I'm pushing with Elle
But do you have something smaller to play on first? I think though you'll be ok on a home machine - dont try and do an "all over" pattern with the weight of a biggie - just look at it in small sections, or even individual blocks, and it becomes a much easier project!
Bonne chance!

And I would love to meet you all Elle - I know the area quite well. Havent been for a long time though - last time was 1983 when I worked on a car launch in Marbella - we had the event at Conference Centre in Torremolinos, gala dinners at the Casino at Torrequebrada, and used hotels in Marbella (Don Carlos and Melia Don Pepe, which will have changed hands/names now I suppose)- I know the area has changed out of sight now and wouldnt recognise any of it probably.
