Look really close around the edges...if it's a commercial quilt you should be able to find where the tag was removed.

I have picked up a couple quilts that are of this nature- they are fairly well designed and hand stitched and they are made in China. I got one at the Goodwill store, and one at the local dept store after xmas sale. They are both nice quilts and one tip off is the hand quilting which is not very complex or close. My Christmas one is starting to have a few quilting stitches come out after a few washings, but i very much like the design and fabrics. whereever it came from, the price is right!!

If the quilting stitches are almost 1/4" then it most likely is. But either way it's pretty and well worth what she paid. The stitches in the picture don't look nearly that big.
