I am so happy to be finished with this quilt! I am also embarrassed that it took me so long. I did the top fairly quickly, considering all the hand applique. I started quilting it, then had some trying life situations happen, and for a period of a few years stopped sewing. When I started again, I was sort of afraid to hand quilt for fear I had forgotten and was afraid I would ruin the quilt. It just sat for many years. I picked it back up about a year ago, determined to finish it, but I also had 2 other quilts (with deadlines) going. Anyway it is finished!!

I am so pleased for you, it must be something of a relief - would love to see a pic of it too.

Congratulations - I can feel your relief. You have a treasure there, and I hope you enjoy it for years to come! But should you ever get tired of it, you can ship it to me! :)

That is so pretty! It is such a good feeling to finish our UFOs especially ones that have been around for awhile.

Both!! It is a double irish chain in the middle, but I ended the pattern at a different place than what most patterns have you do. The applique, I designed as I went, I usually just eyeball the placement of my applique, I don't make a placement pattern. The corners, I hadn't planned, I just figured it out when I got to them.

Hi from Oklahoma City. Your quilt is lovely. Makes me feel better about one I worked on, off and on for 5 years lol. Did you hand quilt this one? That is what slowed me down.

I am so glad you picked it up agaiu. The colors are so soft, and I like that way you kept the background relatively plain because you notice the flowers more.

Thank you for taking the time to tell me how you did this, i is appreciated. I do love the way your applique just looks as if you spent hours placing it.
