Teacup, I think the fabric is beautiful. The idea of fussy cutting it and then applique each piece on a square is lovely, you could still have it on point and have a lovely design where each flower would be centred.
If it were me thats what I would opt for, but it yours and I know you just love that fabric.

I do like it on point it does add to the beauty of the piece.

Thanks, Elle. I'm going to have to play with it a bit more and perhaps do a trial run.

Omak, I just love the combination of colors you have in your center! It looks great.

I love the log cabin. So bright and lively. Will brighten up those long winter days wherever it may go.

I love your choice of fabric and colors. Can't wait to see the finished block.

I get to put the first border on Omak's beautiful Carpenter's Wheel center *dances a happy dance* I've got some great blue & green batiks in my stash to work with too! It's going to be great!

Teacup, I like the diagonal mock-up also. Good luck with your experimenting.

Ninnie, love your block. So creative and appropriate for an IRR. I'd be apt to leave the corners empty so as not to interrupt the flow of the embroidery.

Omak, gorgeous colors. Did you dye those yourself? Stunning!

ninnie

i'm fallen down and i can't get up!!

i never would have expected that center from i'm so used to you saying that you love repro prints and traditional designs.

you have gone so far out of the box for this one - who knew there was a contemporary quilt artist inside just dying to get out.

bravo to you!

YOU ROCKED THE WORLD!

Thank you for all your enthusiasm. <g>
The fabrics in the block were all found at my LQS.
