I fill in some candys or little chocolates, only on Sundays there is little gift like a new pencil or some stickers or so!

What a great idea! I'm off to find a christmas panel too. Did you use fabric paint for the numbers?

I love your Advent Calendar, I have given each family one, not hand sewn. May try doing one for each grandchild for their families. I may have to store most of them for a few Years.

Letztes Wochenende haben wir Lebkuchen und Dominos gekauft. Ich nähe auch etwas für Weihnachten -- von mir aus könnte direkt nach meinem Geburtstag (15.09.) die Weihnachtszeit anfangen.

Last weekend, we bought [chocolate covered soft gingerbread, and these little petit-fours with a layer of gingerbread, jelly and marzipan in a little cube, all covered in chocolate. Sometimes Aldi has them, they're so good]. I'm also sewing something for Christmas -- as far as I'm concerned, Christmas can start right after my birthday (Sep 15th).

I have 2 Advent Calendars that I do for my great niece (15) and nephew (22). I fill their pockets with small, silly things such as their favorite candy bar, a balloon, package of gum, an ornament that is their initial, pocket size package of tissues, a special cookie, Christmas pencil, etc. I shop the clearance counters after Christmas for items and save them for the next year (except for the candy and food stuff, of course). I also watch for clearance items all year, especially after holidays. A lot of things come 2 or more to a package like the holiday pencils. I added up what I spent on them one years and it was less than $12.00. I asked them how they liked their calendars and they said they loved them - it was not how expensive the items were but that each day they knew I had thought of them. Great kids!
