What's a "nanna"? I think the block is wonderful. You're on a roll now.

I have been playing with my fabrics & think about LBB. Can't do much more than that for now as I need 8 yards of background fabric - planning on getting it on next trip to Albuquerque, BUT if I wait, I won't have anything to take with me to work on while up there!

How funny, I knew what she meant! Nanna not as in grandmother, more with a long A as in Banana, but I have no idea where it comes from.

Mind you, I don't agree with her - anyone could open a door and not think about little pieces scattering like confetti!

    LOL, just looked it up!

    nana1
Ķ noun Brit. informal a silly person; a fool.

    Origin
1960s: perh. a shortening of banana.
    --------
    nana2
    (Brit. also nanna)
    Ķ noun informal one's grandmother.

    Origin
C19: child's pronunciation of nanny or gran.

I still don't understand why a banana equates as someone being silly, so perhaps you are right Elle. I have a little book somewhere on Cockney slang. If I find it, I will look it up. Oh, just had another thought - could it be because people would look daft if they slid on the skin?
