The trick is to pick and choose which facial lines to copy. Too many age the baby's face. I then traced the pencil lines onto fabric, again using the light box. My little granddaughter taught me that it is way easier to after dark with only the tracing box light on. I tried using the coloring book ap on my computer, but it didn't give me the look I wanted.
Funny thing, when I did their house I worked from an old pictures. I reworked the windows because I counted the number of panes incorrectly. When I delivered the quilt I realized that they had replaced all of those little panes with a big picture window. It could have been so much easier to do.

I embroidered the pictures by hand. It was like eating potato chips once I got started. I couldn't do just one.

What a beautiful quilt, and I love the embroidered "pictures". You should be proud of the quilt and your hard work.

Such a lovely 50th Anniversary gift. The history alone makes it such a wonderful heirloom! Beautiful embroidery, great layout and wonderful colors. Thanks for sharing.
