    Yes, I have a pattern, one I got off my son some 20 odd years back when he made such a bear as a school project!!! I only just found it again

    So cute, I would not worry about the buttons coming off. It is easy to sew buttons on so they don't come off.
    I have not seen a child or baby chew on buttons. They usually chew on the hands/paws or feet.
