Another Diversion and a little memory trick

Hey Roseyhf! Love what your doing! Isn't it fun to just keep building and building. Love all your bright fun fabrics.
Keep us updated.
Have you thought about a quilting motif yet? I'm not sure yet how I want to do it. Nothing intricate cause it is so busy. I was thinking of doing a clam shell pattern or a feathered panto.
Love the look of yours!

It looks relaxing. It also can be made in different sizes. I'm wondering if I need a design wall, as I don't have room for it.. Also would it keep it from being all over if you sew it as you go? I understand that you have to sew in rows... I'm in a one bedroom apartment.. What size squares do they advise?

After I posted, I was thinking ... that I might cut 5 squares every time I touch a fabric, and set them aside, til there are enough sets done for a whole quilt. It'd be a project that could just grow ... til the time was right!

I had to go cook real quick and now I am back and here are some more pics. I took down six rows down and eight accross. I put these on my plastic palette and being real careful of the fan lol, I start to speed sew the squares this way. I will only speed sew one row at a time.
I start at the end by me, on the right. Fold over the last square over the next one, sew....do the next two etc. I do the 4's and the set of 4's. Then when I clip them apart, the first one I clip goes to spot 1 on the left and so on. Then I do row 2 and so on. This way,you will be able to see that they match. After I finish that section, I take down another besides it. ...so in all I have taken down three sections of 8 accross and six down. I haven't sewed the rows together yet.
The first pic shows the squares the way the appeared on the board on my tray.
The second pic shows the 8x6 section of squares sewed together.
The third pic show the top section of 6x24.

Your method makes it seem a lot more organized. I like the idea of using scraps, and pretty ones at that. Each of the crosses seem to take just what I have left after projects and even some quilts. Good pattern and method!

I forgot to mention that each Cross takes 5 squares, except for the sides and top and bottom, those take four. When I cut the squares out, the odd ones that were left, I put those in a different pile and used those for the one outside, as they don't have to match anything.

I wish I had seen this a year ago. I'd be nearly to the needed amount. Well, I think I'll start now too. I really like this!
