    It is intense, but it anchors the rest of it nicely. I think it is lovely just as you have it now. I wouldn't buy a darker color. They often look dull and uninteresting in a quilt, I think, but then I was never very fond of what they call Civil War reproductions. Some things are just better left in the past. <G> You did wash the fabric, didn't you, because reds and blues are notorious for bleeding.

    I may be the odd girl out but I think the blue is too bright. Not sure if it has too much red in it but it seems to fight with the greyer blue below. The brown sashing is perfect though.

    I really like this quilt. Can't wait to see it with the stars. That is when you will really see it come to life! Don't give up now, it is way too beautiful to second guess yourself.
