Here is the rug for the kitchen & gathering room that matches the "Autumn Splendor" quilt, table runner, placemats and napkins with my handy helper, Domino. She was sitting on the rug while I was binding it. When I put it on the floor in the kitchen, she had to check it out.

The first one that I made I used a towel as backing and poly felt as the batting. The towel was just a little too thick to quilt on the frame (I did it, but it wasn't fun). So I switched to the poly felt (made from recycled plastic bottles). It is stiffer, much better w/2 layers of felt. It is about the same thickness as a regular quilt. You could put it on the back to help stiffen it up. I use 2 layers of the cheaper felt from JA, but if you are only doing 1, I would probably go with the premium (thicker) felt. Spray the back w/Super Grip, works great.

Mine is not a high traffic situation. Make a couple of them to rotate. I probably wouldn't use them for everyday in a high traffic area. I would use them for parties, special occasions, etc.
