B&W Scrappy Quilt, Made by a Quilter who doesn't like B&W Quilts.

I made this queen-size quilt to give to my niece at Christmas. She specified she wanted a black and white quilt to match her house decor. I don't like B&W quilts, so I used a variety of scrappy fabrics--which I do love. The back of the quilt is more colorful, so it is reversible.

I "invented" the pattern based on a quilt I saw in a quilting magazine advertisement. I used the Cotton Theory method to sew it together. I did FMQ in the large strips, and I must say that my FMQ ability is improving about 1% for every 100 hours I practice. bwahahaha! I have only made 6 quilts, so I can can see a bit of progress.

My niece and I are both CPAs, so the message on the label is a subtle accounting joke.

Very nice! Are those numbers I see in the sashing strips?? LOL ! Excellent choice due to your professions. Your attention to detail is wonderful; I assume a characteristic of being a CPA!! My DD is one too. Thanks for sharing your great quilt!

I have a B & W on the list, and yours is beautiful. Then doing the backing so it can be reversible is just a great idea. Great job.

Neat quilt - back is great too. Nice idea to make it reversible if desired.

I love black & white. And I REALLY love your design. I think it looks very classical. And the idea of doing the back in brights is great. I am making a B&W for my DD for Christmas. Thanks for sharing.

How intriging. I like looking at it. The backing itself gives an unexpected surprise. The front looks sophisticated.

It is really pretty. Kind of odd though you stating you don't like black and white---yet you are a mom to Boston terriers. They are black and white---we have 3 of them. Love 'em also.

That turned out beautiful - even though it's just black and white. I love it!
