Default A Beginner Level Quilt I made from a Layer Cake

This is a quilt I just finished made from a Jane Sassaman 10 inch layer cake (Hot House) and some other left over Sassaman fabric. The back is solid black. It was so easy! I had a 36 piece layer cake and laid 35 pieces out in a 5 by 7 block pattern. I cut the 36th piece into quarters and put one in each corner, then cut 5 inch strips of my extra fabric to frame the sides. I stripped it with a black jelly roll, sent it to my LAQ. I bound it in a coordinating purple also from the Sassaman collection so all the colors coordinated.
