On second thought.....I think I would get that beautiful quilt appraised and not send it with him..........let him take one of the lesser quality ones......On third thought, I would get them all appraised...........you could have a virtual gold mine there....and you have the provenance, so the value is even more...........think about it.......So many quilts have been lost in quilt history because they were used, worn out and then tossed..........looks to me like these are all "keepers".

That is just a STUNNER...love the colors and pattern, and seeing one like this gives us encouragement to try colors we wouldn't have appreciated without this lovely visual. WOW.

Please do make a label for your BIL's quilt. I would also include the maker's name, place and estimated date of completion. That is one gorgeous quilt.

That IS pretty! And by the looks of it, well made. Make sure his name is on it somewhere, so it doesn't disappear from the place he's moving. That's happened more times than I care to count!
